"I have met versions of you from other universes but the universes are different. The plots are the same, though, so although here singing isn't magic, you probably have something that would work. I don't know if it might have different dev time though, maybe you don't have it yet."

"Doesn't work on Ainur yet."

"Well, our bad guy is very strong but he's not an Ainu, it still might help. Do you need to do it personally or could we borrow it?"

"It's like the forcefields, it's actually - the thing I get when I try the thing my mother does to get the forcefields. I don't see how you could borrow it."

"Well, then it might require an expedition, and it could be dangerous, but I thought it was worth asking."

"What kind of dangerous?"

"Bad guy still has his set of six superweapons. And we're pretty sure they could kill Melkor."

" - in a way I'm  - harder to kill than Mom or Melkor. Since - I don't know what it'd mean to kill them but they'd be gone, if you did."

"Yeah. He probably wouldn't be expecting that; the superweapons might be good enough but that doesn't mean he is. I'm not sure your soul would send backups while you were away, but assuming it's a chip, I could bring it back for you."

"Do - do you need me -"

"No. The basics of the plan were outlined by a precog who didn't know you existed. But you could be an edge, and it might be that you'd let us do it faster."

She stands there looking very torn for a while. "You're both going?"

"Shuri's a tech type, she's doing prep work at home, not showing up to the fight, but she's helping. I'm going."

"We're not going immediately, there's an ambush to set up. If you want some time to think I can come back."

"Maybe that's a good idea."

"Is here good?"

Nod.

"Sorry to startle you and yours like this."

"Do win the war, that'd be good."

"If this doesn't pan out my other solution could potentially turn out to take months longer, I'm going to make this run good if I can."
