There are many gods which the servants of ASMODEUS sought to defame, lest we turn away from ASMODEUS and towards RIGHTEOUSNESS. It is the duty of all good men to reject the LIES of ASMODEUS and turn towards the TRUTH. But there are also gods whom the Asmodeans said were wicked, and which in truth are just as wicked as they claimed. I have written this pamphlet to expose the lies of the servants of ASMODEUS, that all right-thinking men may come to know the TRUTH.

The first such god is BLESSED IOMEDAE, SAVIOR OF CHELIAX, WHO STRIKES DOWN ALL EVIL. The Asmodeans decried her as weak and pathetic, but in truth she was far stronger than ASMODEUS THE VANQUISHED. The Asmodeans sought to CONCEAL this truth from you that you might think it SHAMEFUL to serve within her HEAVENLY ARMIES, but there is no SHAME to be found in serving such a MIGHTY WARRIOR as she.

The next such god is NORGORBER THE TRICKSTER, GOD OF THIEVES, WHO LIES WITHIN THE SHADOWS. The Asmodeans proclaimed that he was NEUTRAL EVIL, and that all men who served him would be CONSUMED BY ABBADON. But in truth he is LAWFUL NEUTRAL, and his domain lies within the GLORIOUS CITIES of AXIS. The Asmodeans feared resistance, and so sought to decry all CRIME, even that CRIME which bears NO EVIL. Do not take me to be defending the PLUNDER of HONEST MEN, for that is WICKEDNESS indeed; but to steal from DIABOLISTS is no WICKEDNESS at all.

The last such god is GOZREH, WIND-FATHER AND WAVE-MOTHER, WHO BLESSES THE TREES AND THE EARTH. The Asmodeans sought to DEFILE her forests with RAPACIOUS THEFT and WANTON DESTRUCTION, and so told us that GOZREH had nothing to offer humanity. But in truth the pleasures of the FLOWERS and BIRDS and BREEZE have been granted for the benefit of all men, and the curses of WILD BEASTS await all those who would strike down her sacred groves.

There may be other such FALSELY MALIGNED GODS, but if so I am not aware of them.

As for the gods which the Asmodeans denounced without need for trickery, I will not name every such name I have heard of, for I do not wish to inadvertently spread the teachings of such gods. But there are a few which all men have heard of, and I suspect therefore that there is little danger in repeating their names.

The Asmodeans spoke of the danger of dread ROVAGUG, the WORLD-EATER, who all gods conspired to confine. This was the TRUTH, for ROVAGUG in his hunger sought to devour not just the world and the stars but even the paving stones of Hell. No right-thinking man should worship ROVAGUG, lest we reawaken his corpse to once again plunder first Westcrown and then the entire world.

They also spoke of the foolishness of CAYDEN CAILEAN, the LUCKY DRUNK, who rejoices to see men deep in their cups. In doing so they omitted that CAYDEN CAILEAN has set himself against the evil of slavery, for which reason he is still counted among the gods of Good. But I have spoken with a priest of CAYDEN CAILEAN, and learned thereby that in TRUTH drunkenness is pleasing to him, and that in TRUTH he passed from man to god while drunk, which is more than sufficient to demonstrate his foolishness. No right-thinking man should worship CAYDEN CAILEAN, unless he is a slave.

They spoke as well of the tyranny of ZON-KUTHON, tyrant of NIDAL, who seeks to capture the souls of wicked men for himself. This too is the TRUTH, but what they did not tell you is that ZON-KUTHON is the prince of PAIN, and pain must inevitably lend him strength. For had you known that all PAIN serves ZON-KUTHON, you would not have so easily accepted the tortures of the diabolists. No right-thinking man should worship ZON-KUTHON, and nor even should any wicked man, for such worship will bring only suffering.
