"You might get detention if you keep missing classes."

"I can handle detention. It's just high school."

She nods and looks down at the Math.

"You got a head for numbers?"

"I'm more of a visual guy. I can take a look."

He takes a look, and explains it to her.

Juliet catches on quickly and gets it done.

Jackson stops by her desk when class is over.

"Hey, I heard what happened. I'm sorry."

"Thanks. Muderous cousins, regret taking an interest yet?"

"I don't. Not even a little. I hope they find him."

"Unlikely, but it's a nice thought."

"I hope he dies alone and unhappy. If you need any notes that you missed, I'm sure Matt is trying, but Lydia's are better. So are mine."

"I'm not too worried, but sure, thanks. Much more useful than all those flowers I've been getting. Make my nose itch."

"I'll tell Lydia not to send any more."

"If that's everything, we should get going."

She takes Matts hand.

"I'd appreciate it. Talk to you later, Whittemore."

School continues.

Juliet attends her classes. Look how functional she is!

"Since none of you can handle a simple homework assignment, I thought I would give you work that your little minds can handle."

He hands out a worksheet to everyone.

...Juliet takes the worksheet and tries to ignore the blood.

She takes one look at the work- cartoon animals and demeaning questions- and takes out her book again.

The rest of the day is much the same. Matt goes to his own classes half the time, but otherwise stays close.

The thought of going back to the Boarding House so soon makes her tense.

"Do you have lacrosse practice?"

"I can skip it, if you want."

"You should go. Life doesn't revolve around me, despite all evidence."

"Will you be there to cheer me on?"

"Always."
