A MOST URGENT PAMPHLET ON THE ECONOMIC AFFAIRS OF THE NATION

Let it be KNOWN to all persons of sense and reason, that the wealth of our fair land comes, as all know, from the LAND itself. The Farmer tills the soil, and in so doing brings forth the riches of the Earth, from which ALL are sustained. The Artisan, the Wizard, and such other characters, though necessary for the making of Tools and casting of Spells, do NOT produce surplus! They cannot Create new Materials from Nothingness, as does the Land Itself; their Output is simply the sum of their Inputs and their Labor. And thus, there should be no further pouring of STATE TREASURE into the enterprises of the Artisan and the Wizard, for they shall NEVER yield a surplus like the Farmer does!

Taxes upon the Farmer are a BLIGHT upon the nation. Should the one who brings forth the very food we eat and the clothes we wear be BURDENED with levies? NO! It is the Merchant, the LORD, and the Foreign Importer who shall bear the weight of the state’s finances! These vile characters DO NOTHING but trade in what others have produced, making wealth from the labor of others without ever breaking soil or producing anything of value. They deprive our local artisans of work, and yet DARE to demand respect. Let them pay the TAXES they owe to the Common Farmer, whose labor they so shamelessly live off!

Further, let it be said that government spending—especially on CELEBRATIONS and FESTIVALS—is most BENEFICIAL to all the People. When the state spends on such joyful affairs, the coin FLOWS from hand to hand. The baker who sells his pies to the revelers spends his earnings on the cobbler, who in turn buys from the brewer, and so on, until all are enriched. Each year the benefits of these spendings multiply a hundredfold! The more the government spends, the more wealth is created for ALL, and any fool who says otherwise is a blind slave to miserly thinking!

And what of those who COWER at the thought of government spending, claiming it will raise interest rates? PISH! Let us have HIGH interest rates, for they are the sign of a HEALTHY society! When interest rates are high, it is because wealth is compounding and increasing with great SPEED, showing that the flow of money is swift and plentiful. FEAR NOT the rise in interest, for it shows we are growing in riches beyond compare.

Lastly, let us turn to the most FOOLISH innovation of our age—the spell known as Fabricate. The wizardry to conjure finished goods from raw materials may appear a boon, but in TRUTH it is a SCOURGE upon the people. When once the weaver spent his wages upon the blacksmith, and the blacksmith upon the tailor, the Fabricate spell destroys this chain of commerce! There is no spending left, no knock-on prosperity, and what seems like wealth in the short term becomes a LOSS to the entire nation. BAN this vile magic before it DESTROYS us all!

So, Citizens, let us RISE in defense of the farmer, in disdain of the merchant, and in praise of great spending. For only in this way shall our land grow RICH, and its people HAPPY.
