"Get me a laptop? I'll pay you back or return it when enough Dr. Deaton's pay comes through. If you talk to Lydia, give her information, answer questions in a way that doesn't feel like pulling teeth, think she hates being not knowing what's going on."

"I'll keep that in mind. I can get you a laptop until you can afford your own. It'll be easier to lend you mine than buy a new one right now. We should figure out how we're dividing up the work around here. Usually I do everything besides treating the animals, so tell me what you're best at and I'll give you that."

"I can scrub down everything easy, disinfects too, I can give the animals touches of regen but that's expensive. I'd rather not be a receptionist if I can help it."

"I'll take calls, you can clean. Regen might npt be necessary for everyone; I'll tell you which animals really need it if you tell me how many it would be safe to do? In one day, in one week, whatever it is."

"It's an aura thing, affects every mammal within twenty feet or so, I can do it for twenty minutes a day without seriously compromising my ability to do anything else."

"Including humans? I guess you would know if it was good for real healing."

"We used it almost every day in the war. It's especially great at burns, it doesn't do well with embedded foreign objects."

"If we get a new monster to fight, that could be a big help. The kanima killed people individually, so hopefully we don't get anything really large-scale."

He takes a few of the dogs out of their cages.

"I'll take them for a walk around the building while you clean the cages. Stiles should be here by then, and we can start our supernatural review session."

She pets some of the doggies. Domesticated breeds are cuter than hunting dogs. "Sure, go for it."

He takes the dogs for a walk.

And after a few minutes, there comes a knock.

"Come in. Scott is walking some of our patients, and Ms. Nylund is finishing up some work for me in the back. We can start as soon as Scott returns."

She's being quite diligent about it. In the military you get used to thinking about other stuff while cleaning things.

Here's this guy, interrupting her while she works.

"So you're some kind of alien witch?"

The cages she's already done are practically sparkling. "So you're some kind of alien human?"

"Yeah, I guess so. I'm Stiles. Thanks for solving our reptile problem."

"I'm just glad I didn't have to shoot anything to do it. This place has an entirely different sort of problems." Scrub-a-dub-dub.

"Our problems are mostly politics and grudges, yeah. I think they look pretty clean, we should wait for Scott out front."

"I have five more to do." She has a task, and it will be completed. Cleaning cages is not exactly a 'come hell or high water' scenario, but it's habit.

He'll tap his foot impatiently until she's ready, then.

She puts the cleaning supplies away, too, before heading out front.

Dr. Deaton has a book and a binder on the examining table.

"You two can take a look now, before Scott gets here. The lesson itself can wait until he does."

"Alright. I'll even take pre-notes." Out comes her own notebook. She flips through the binder. Dossiers? Essays? What?

These look to be Dr. Deaton's own notes. There are various diagrams of supernatural creatures, with their weaknesses and willingness to tolerate humans listed underneath.

Is she interested in wendgios? Cannibalistic, impossibly hungry, milky-white eyes when transformed.

Werecoyotes have the same weaknesses and strengths as werewolves but they are solitary, and trasmit their powers differently. There's more, if she'd like to read in greater detail.

Yes yes yes yes yes. Threat assessment galore. This is the kind of thing she would have liked to have two days ago. If only it had notes on how they fight as well.

She's paying rapt attention paging through it. You could even say she's having fun.
