"Why aren't you?" he asks, and very obviously didn't mean to ask that. He flinches, and curls down on himself a little.

"It's fine, Nova. It's - I'm not because I choose not to be, mostly. We don't - really get a choice to be Sith or not, you know? Somebody notices you're Force-sensitive and that's it, they're your master now, or you get shipped off to Korriban, depending. And either way... most Sith think being nice is a weakness, and they're only mostly wrong. It has to be really important to them for someone to stay nice in a place like that - which you know, I think."

He ducks his head. "M'glad you found me."

"Yeah, me too."

He's still confused by that statement, but shuffles a little closer to her again. His flames have died down to the point that they're just flickering around his fingers.

She gives him a hug, of course, and pets his hair.

"You don't have to be a Sith. I'll teach you if you want, but if you just want to learn to hide it, that's fine. I'm not going to make you do anything."

He leans into her, giving a content hum. "I- dunno," he says with half a shrug. (That's not a decision he can make when even being able to properly control his flames feels so far away.)

"Yeah, there's no rush. Just, in case you were wondering."

"Thank you," he says earnestly.

Squeeze. "You're a good kid, Nova."

He shakes his head, although it's a far more confused motion than disagreement. (Although he's spent most of his life being told he was bad, and wrong, to really believe what Pradnakt's saying.)

"You are. It would've been really easy to end up angry, where you were, and wanting to hurt everyone, and you don't, you're so careful."

He frowns a little. "But- being hurt isn't nice? Why would I- want to do that?"

"People end up thinking it'll keep them safe, if they hurt anyone who might hurt them, and feeling like that matters more than being nice." She shrugs. "They're not exactly wrong, either, about it keeping them safe, but you give up a lot of good things if you live that way."

He shakes his head slightly. "I- sometimes I couldn't- stop it. Just hurt worse."

"Ah, yeah. That's... kind of a different thing, if they can tell you're trying not to." Squeeze. "Anyway, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you."

"Oh," he says quietly. He relaxes a little with the squeeze. "Thank you," he repeats, just as earnestly.

"Well, what good is being a Sith if I can't keep the people I like safe."

He makes a small sound that is quite possibly a giggle.

"Yeah."

"You gonna stay out here for a while?"

He shrugs. "Don't...mind?" he offers. (It seems a little like he's run out of ability to make decisions.)

"It's fine if you want to. I want to get back to work, though."

"Oh, I- um-" he cuts off an apology, takes a breath. "For a little while? Please?"

He likes, a little, being able to relax and let his flames just be without worrying about harming anyone.

"Yeah, that's fine. Take as long as you want." She gives him a squeeze and hops down, then impulsively reaches over to take Daisy's hand. "Love you. You really did do good."

She ducks her head shyly. "Thank you."

"All right, see you later." And off she goes.

He watches the interaction with a smile on his face. (It's nice to watch. And Daisy is, he thinks, being adorable.)
