It's a nice library, especially for such a small town, with plenty of everything, but a focus on science and poetry, a well-appointed children's' section, a nice selection of music and holovids, and comfy chairs offering varying amounts of privacy.
Right now, though, it's closing time; the announcements have been made, the final checkout rush handled, and now the librarian is making one last check before she locks up for the night.
Nova has showered quickly, and reenters the workroom at that last sentence. He pauses.
"M'not interrupting?" he checks.
"It's fine, Nova. We were about done anyway, I think?" She directs the question at Nine, and he nods. "You can come sit with us, if you want."
She scoots down the bench to sit closer to him. "Is something wrong? We can go in back, if you'd rather," she asks quietly.
He shakes his head. "I- didn't want to be..." He gestures slightly at Nine and Daisy to try and indicate 'in your space'. (Having someone in your space if you didn't want them there wasn't pleasant.)
"Oh," he says quietly, furrowing his brow slightly. He shuffles closer, but can't quite bring himself to move to their bench.
Nine watches, then gets up and goes around to his other side, giving him just a little more space than Daisy tends to. "Would you like a hug?"
That gets him a startled, confused look. "I- uh-" he glances at Daisy. "Yes?" his words are directed at Nine.
He's not as good at it as Daisy is; he's built more awkwardly for it, and he's a little too careful not to squeeze too hard. But it's obviously well-meant, anyway.
Well, Nova's experience of hugs is Pradnakt and Daisy, and now Nine. And the hug is gratefully received with a small smile, and Nova leaning a little into Nine.
Nova makes the quiet sound that is probably his giggle, "Think I like them too," he agrees quietly.
He nods. "Daisy's a good cook," he says. "Best I've tasted." (Not that that's really saying much.)
