He smiles back, and will follow her into the barn to help with the animals.

Jasmine is still curious about him, and Daisy seems less concerned with keeping her away from him now.

Well, he doesn't actually mind her being curious about him. Animals didn't normally want anything from you, except feeding, or sometimes pets. And he can provide Jasmine with both of those.

She's all for pets, and food, too.

Soon enough, they're done with their chores. "Would you like to do anything else tonight? We could go for a walk, if you'd like some time outside the dampening effect."

"I- would be. Nice, but-" he shrugs. "Fine with...whatever."

"It's no trouble." She starts walking.

He blinks, and then follows after her.

She seems to be heading out to the same rock ledge from the other night. Before they get too far, she points out where a pair of small flags have been set into the dirt on either side of the trail: "This is about how far the effect goes when Pradnakt is in the house. You can come out here by yourself if you want to, they're just to show you where you need to start to be careful."

"I- thank you," he says with a small smile. "That's- good. Useful. Don't want to- damage anything."

"Mmhmm. Pradnakt can stop a fire once it's started, too, but it's better not to need to in the first place. We won't be upset with you, though, even if that does happen."

He nods, not quite believingly. "Okay," he agrees.

She continues in silence; the effect fades out when they've gone a little farther.

"I don't know what to talk about; I don't want to ask you too many questions."

He ducks his head, shrugs a little as the flames flicker up his arms. "I- don't really- never had to. Talk this much before?" he says quietly. Pauses. "I- thank you. For the- datapad."

"You're welcome. I'm glad you like it."

"The...music was good." Another pause, watching the flames dancing over his hands. "Think I prefer the...books? A little more?"

"That's all right. I'll get you some next time I'm in town, then. And Pradnakt won't mind you borrowing her collection. Most of that is poetry, though.'

"What she...said to me was good?" he says. "Just- I. Some of it was. Too much?"

"Yeah, she's not very good at being gentle, sometimes." She sounds fond, nonetheless. "But I can ask her to find you some that won't be so much, like that."

He thinks for a moment, and then gives a cautious nod. "I- that would be. Nice? Please?"

"All right. It might be a few days before she has time."

"I- that's fine," he says immediately. "I- it's not that. Important."

"I know. If it was, she'd do it right away."

He blinks at his flames again, and then nods - that makes sense. He doesn't seem inclined to continue a conversation - perhaps a little lost as to how to do that, and a little more focused on the flames.

"I'm glad to have Nine around. It seems like you're getting along okay with him, now?"

He nods, smiling a little. "M'glad he's- not got the restraining bolt," he says. He opens his mouth like he's going to say something, and then stops.
