… Prrrobably not just for his own purposes?

His back: has no mark on it. Looks totally unblemished.

"The mark on your forehead disappeared a bit before the one on your hand, and I presume the one on your back disappeared at around the same time. Doesn't seem to change depending on location or whatever."

Nod. "Okay, so, with such a small set of data it seems like me knowing about it maybe slows it down or alternatively things on my forehead disappear more quickly than on my hand?"

"I did cast the spell on your forehead before your hand though, I think it actually doesn't change anything." Pause. "You can put your shirt back on, by the way, however much I like the sight of you."

"Or I could keep it off?" he says, smirking a bit. "But okay, doesn't seem to do much? Weird that my hair took, um, like a couple of hours or something, then."

"We are in fact in our librarian's house, I'm not sure you should keep your clothes off, and maybe it's because hair is, um, less alive?"

He rolls his eyes but puts his shirt back on. "Suggested that earlier, and maybe? But then I'd expect internal things to heal quicker than skin, because top layers are dead there too, I think? … Not that we've tested how I fare with internal injuries, I guess, but I'd expect to act mostly like norm—" He cuts himself off.

He giggles. "I'm not sure how to test that, though."

"I don't know," he says. "Still need to test if it's just a magic thing or if it applies to non-magical stuff too, I think?"

"Right, we should maybe dye your hair with actual hair dye."

"Unfortunately it probably has to be a color I would find objectionable to see if it works."

"Pink again, of course."

"Ok." Eyeroll. "Should we go buy that now-ish and do it, or…?"

"D'you know where to buy that?"

"Pharmacy or something? I dunno, haven't been here for that long, dunno what you have around."

"A pharmacy wouldn't have pink hair dye. Although I suppose we could pick, like, blond hair dye and then dye one half and magically change the other half's color..."

"I mean, a pharmacy might? If it's got a generic cosmetics section, some pharmacies– oh, wait, small town, okay maybe not."

"I'm not sure generic cosmetics sections of pharmacies have pink hair dye! But we could go check, anyway, doesn't cost us much."

"The pharmacies I'm thinking of are kinda big, and they have a bunch of cosmetics, pretty sure I've seen pink hair dye before, but yeah, small ones probably wouldn't have it." Shrug. "Might as well check though, yeah."

So he tells Norma where they're going and off they go!

That they do!

… Theo continues to not know the surrounding area very well, so Sadde should probably lead the way.

Sadde does! And they reach a pharmacy. It's not huge, but it's not tiny, either.

And it has a cosmetics section.

In the cosmetic section: well, there's not pink per se but there's a kind of really strong red?

By the way Theo is eyeing it, it would probably work as a pink substitute.

"You're cute when you have trouble with your looks," he says, grabbing it off the shelf.

"I am perfectly happy with my looks," he says, continuing to eye it. "It's altering them in ways I do not expressly desire to alter them that I am not happy with."
