"You're almost unpink. That was much faster than the hair thing."

"Perhaps I object to pink skin more and it works on that sort of principle. Or maybe it's just that my hair is more dead – because biology and stuff – and so it gets affected slowly, or something." Shrug. "Not really enough data to tell."

"We could try a different color, then, or try some more hidden place."

"Yeah, could try 'slightly paler' on my cheeks and then the hot pink thing on my shoulder?"

He pulls up his sleeve.

Willow does the cheeks!

And Sadde does the shoulder.

And so Theo looks slightly pale on his cheeks and has a pink spot on his shoulder. "So anyway, about my nails, should we try, I dunno, taking a knife to them and seeing if we can make marks? Or maybe it's only if I'm intentionally doing stuff to them that they can actually get damaged?"

"Yeah good idea! And we should maybe see exactly how sharp your teeth and nails are."

"By just testing them on various materials?"

"Yup."

"Okay," he says. "Any particular materials in mind? Regular human skin, block of metal, maybe some lead or osmium if you just happen to know some lying around?" Eyeroll.

"Your eyes are gonna end up stuck like that."

"Stuck in a roll?" he asks, giving Sadde a bit of a look. "Yeah, sure, whatever – anyway, materials?"

"I dunno, presumably Norma has lots of stuff for the Slayer to break, we could borrow some?"

"Yeah?"

"I think I'm gonna read books instead."

Theo shrugs. "If you want."

So they go after Norma.

Who is training Eva.

Who is sorta having fun.

Because, c'mon, superpowers.

Norma hears their desperate plea and provides them with blocks of wood, brick, concrete, and iron.

"Okay, so should I just try raking these with my nails, or…?"

"Yeah!"

So he does so! The block of wood gets marks in it, the brick takes a bit of difficulty but he does manage to leave marks without totally destroying his fingers, the concrete is similar but slightly easier, and the iron is… harder than the wood, not as hard as the concrete.

Ugh.

"...I don't know a lot about materials, does that make sense at all?"
