The following day there is: school!
Sadde and Willow are already there, sitting on a bench chatting.
"Oh, uh–" he starts, then looks at Sadde. "I take it you didn't tell them, then?"
"I really hope they don't, like, stab me or something then," he mutters. Then, to Eva and Norma, he says, "I might be like, just a little bit, maybe kinda like half, possibly a bit more who knows, um– demon."
"I have some weird grace thingy and apparently sharp teeth and also apparently can throw off a memory erasing spell after, uh, some time. We did tests on me yesterday. Also apparently it fixes 'my hair was magically dyed pink' to– well, you can see," he says, gesturing at his hair which is still slightly highlighted with a lighter color than usual (not pink, just like a slightly-blond).
"You seem nice enough, so I'm going to assume you're one of the demons who are not automatically terrible?" says Eva, eyeing him a bit suspiciously.
"I think most demons that manage to leave hybrid spawn behind must have been at least nice enough not to eat their human co-parents."
"If my mom was the demon, which, she probably was since my dad doesn't seem to share many of the things, then yeah, she seemed rather normal for a long while. And then she disappeared and I still thought she was normal." Shrug. "Then again, I thought everything was normal until I suddenly found out it wasn't."
"Nope," he says. "I've only known about this for like a week now and I haven't really looked into anything yet – except for a few books of Sadde's that didn't seem to have anything, I don't think – and we poked at some of the stuff I could do yesterday and were planning on doing more today."
"I'm pretty sure my mom was the demon one since she was murdered by a lot of people who I now presume must have been demon hunters."
"Oh, that wasn't in Sunnydale," she shrugs. "And it was like twelve years ago or so."
"So! Pretty sure demons don't have a monopoly on evil. Now that we got that settled let's look for whatever it was that killed the librarian?"
"I have it. It was a skin slipping demon, which he probably summoned. This ritual is usually meant for enemies, and the summoner typically gives the demon some task it should accomplish in its host's body to discredit them before killing them, but..."
"He probably accidentally summoned it and, what, just got eaten by it? Or whatever?"
