"Hey, Scott. Hey, Henry. How was your night? Ours was great."

"Not bad. I have a healing spell now."

"He means an innate spell he got it when I tried to give basic spellcasting to him."

"Oh, the one-in-a-million chance and you got lucky it was a healer-type."

"Anyway, we wanted to check on you two and give spellcasting to Stiles."

"I must have done something good to deserve this. There was all that sleeping me and Gabe did, and now spells, too. Lay it on me." 

Henry casts the spell again and repeats the same instructions he told Lydia, producing a spell book for Stiles to read.

"What will this one do," he says as he starts reading. 

"Produces an illusory flare, since you get along with Gabe, I figured you would might like it," Henry shrugs.

"Could be fun. Is this part mostly reading? You guys can talk amongst yourselves."

"Just reading, yes."

"I will stop distracting you," Gabe says giving Stiles a quick peck before draping himself around Henry.

So he reads. Can he tell what the spell is like from reading, or would he not know if Henry hadn't told him? 

He can tell what the spell is like from reading (there is also a handy summary of it's effect on the first page), and once he gets it memorize it snaps into place and he knows what the spell is like as much he would know how many fingers in has in a hand and how to snap them.

So he tries his first spell.

And there is a loud bang simultaneous with a bright flash, like someone exploded some kind of firework in the middle of the kitchen. But there is no heat or rush of wind, the thing was completely immaterial and safe. Gabe claps. "Congrats on your first spellcasting."

"Can't say I didn't see that coming."

"I wonder if I get a prize."

Gabe kisses Stiles.

Kisses are great! Why hasn't he been doing this all the time?

Oh yeah, the whole breakup thing. Mood killer.

Well, Gabe is here to resurrect the mood and keep it very much alive.

"At some point, you two should eat something that isn't each other's faces."

"Yeah, you should probably take a break."

Gabe in fact does take a break, just to say. "Don't be jealous, Henry. You know you can have me any time."

"And I deeply appreciate it, but the poor boy is going to starve with all the physical activities spending calories."
