Starlight is an organization that emerged in the wake of a series of wars and disasters that saw nuclear and biological weapons run rampant across the surface of their first world.

In the wake of the crisis they were the most united and most established organization remaining with anything like a positive reputation. That reputation was largely built on their unceasing efforts to provide vaccines and countermeasures to the plagues, efforts which successfully ended the plagues.

They also did a great deal of work caring for various refugee groups.

Sometime after that, once things were looking brighter an experiment brought them in contact with a fisher called they call the Heart and granted them the magic system they call Magecrafting.

One of the specialties of Magecrafting is in analysis and the increased ease of science and engineering catalyzed a period of rapid innovation and discovery dramatically expanding their non-magical capabilities to a level that approaches but doesn't match their magical capabilities.

They now use this ability to travel between worlds and try to expand the reach of their polity and improve conditions for any peoples they encounter.
