Citali leaps from the trees, knife out and aiming straight for the Templar below her. She lands heavily, knocking him to the ground, rips his helm off and then rolls away, immediately scampering up the nearest tree with a cheeky giggle. She hears the solid thwack as her brother's arrow spears through her victim's head.

Azry's mouth drops open when the Templar strikes one of his own. She's nearly shocked into inaction, but her battle-hardened instincts send her running towards the stunned Knight-Captain. "Keep Junia away from them!" She calls back to Anders.

She rolls fluidly over the friendly Templar's back, swords poised to deliver strikes to vulnerable areas.

And she's always liked a human on their knees, she grins, stabbing through the Knight-Captain's skirt.

Junia is quicker to action though, and knows she only has a very small window before the Templars start nullifying the area of magic. She pulls out her dagger and drags it across her arm, gathers up the energy in her blood and mentally pushes her influence over the remaining Templars minds.

Stop.

And at once the Templars just stop, their weapons fall and they sag in place.

"I can't hold them for long. Quickly."

He can't move, can't think, can't hardly breath. The magic clouds his mind.

Anders sees Junia's magic and holds back his revulsion. Later. Later he'll talk to her.

He gathers his own magic and lets loose a flurry of winter's grasp, icing the Templars to the floor. "That'll keep them still a while. Gotta back you up," he says with a smile to Junia.

As much as she doesn't like blood magic, Azry cannot deny it's usefulness, especially now.

"Citali! Lets finish them off!" She calls, already ripping helms away and slicing throats.

Citali swings down from her branch, grinning her mischievous grin, and joins Azry. Together they remove helms and slice throats, occasionally accompanied by the thud of an arrow to the skull from Isi.

"I haven't had this much fun since we raided that camp of bandits," Citali says, plunging her knife into the back of a skull.

"Don't be morbid, da'len," calls her brother. She smiles cheerily back.

Once the rest of the Templars were dealt with, there was just the one left standing.

The one who defended them.

Azry taps her lip, staring at the motionless man. She really isn't sure what to do. She doesn't want to kill him, which surprises her.

"Let him go, Junia. Let's see why he turned against his brothers," she calls. Citali settles into a ready stance behind her, and Azry knows that from his perch in the trees, Isi is readying an arrow.

With the last Templars lying on the ground, bleeding out, Junia is tempted to use thier remaning life and blood to heal herself...

She blinks away from the sight of their blood pooling on the ground and lets her influence of the Knight-Lieutenants mind go. She places her dagger back in the small sheathe on her forearm with a mental reminder to clean it later.

She looks up at Anders. "Thank you."

He snaps out of it nearly immediately and looks immediately to Junia.

"You-" he stops when he sees the rest of his squad dead or dying on the ground.

"..."

"Here, let me," Anders says, holding his hand over Junia's cut. The wound itself will be simple to heal, but it might take a bit longer to replenish her blood.

"Welcome back," Azry says to the remaining Templar. She can see his distress, but she can't feel too sorry for him. After all, it was his action that made it possible for them to get out of this safely. "Thank you for defending us. Truly. But I have to ask why."

"You're Grey Wardens."

"You believed us so readily. You chose us over your brothers and sisters. That is a hard choice to make."

"...you had the Mark. And it's a Blight. I had to."

He looks down at the dead Knight-Captain. "He was a bad person." His voice cracks.

"You did the right thing. After all, as the legends go, only Grey Wardens can end a Blight," she says.

Something sticks in her gut then, and she looks over at Anders, nodding her head to the side.

"Citali, Isi, watch him. I need to have a word with our mountain savage."

She and Anders walk to one side, Azry whispering a plan in his ear.

Citali smiles a predatory grin. "Please try to run. I ever so like it when they run."

Junia stays a distance away but keeps her eyes glued on him and waits.

"...you've got to be kidding me," Anders mutters, but he can't help but see Azry's point. They're only two, occaisionally four. They need more help.

"I need a drink. Possibly seven," he sighs, but nods his head in agreement.

Azry squeezes Anders' shoulder. She knows it was a tough decision for him, but is thankful that he sees it her way. Besides, she thinks, having Junia around might cheer him up.

They walk back to the group, Anders returning to heal Junia, and Azry stepping between the Templar and Citali.

"Before anything else, what's your name?" Azry asks the Templar.

"...Alistair."

"Alistair. Nice to meet you. I'm Commander Azry Tabris. The small one threatening you is Citali. The one you can't see is Isi. Behind you is Anders and I'm sure you know Junia," Azry says, nodding to each of her Wardens in time.

"Now. Since you so gallantly came to our rescue, I would like to show my gratitude. But since this is wartime, it does come with a price."

Azry steps closer to Alistair, fixing him with her favourite stare. She's been known to fell lesser men with it.

"I would like to offer you a chance to become one of us."

"....you're not going to kill me?"

Azry shrugs. "Not yet, anyway."
