"I was assuming other people were checking that while we did this. Maybe Tireh is still meeting all the other yous."

"I can go ask her while you're waiting for the demon." Off he goes.

He continues to wait.

Cam comes back a bit later. "She has not successfully taught anyone to do it, even the version that doesn't require singing."

"Okay. Still waiting on this one."

Cam goes away again so it will not be questionable why Timothy needs two demons.

Eventually musical demon shows up.

And Timothy liked his music and wondered if he wanted to be on a list, does he want to be on a list?

"I need a lot of flexibility."

"Do you mean, like, 'cut it out with the fucking gags', or no routine scheduled stuff, or..."

"Scheduling-wise, need to be able to be home to work whenever something occurs to me, although I won't work with a gag either."

"I am pretty sure people are shortly going to discover no one'll work with a gag anymore, yeah." Notes notes. "Where've you enjoyed seeing lately -"

"Got a marvelous language the other day. I like languages."

"What makes one marvelous?"

"It's beyond tonal all the way to completely sung. I don't think I could even use it if I hadn't perfect pitch, but I have."

"- oh, the winged people language? Is that why none of us can get it, I should tell them to grab Macalaurë - we had a terrible time trying to communicate with that society."

"That'd do it. You know Macalaurë? Which fork?"

"The one who used to live on the planet that got holed, has Hell gone ahead and given them fork names since they neglected to do it themselves?"

"Musical community's calling them by nonmatching song titles when necessary. And naming the songs, since a lot of them are just 'third symphony' or what have you. That one's 'High-Silver Sonata'."

Giggle. "I bet this will inspire them to pick proper fork names. Anyway, yes, I know him, I think the Elves've been running half their interplanetary communications off him, and it'd be really useful to be able to communicate properly with the winged people so I think it merits bothering him."

"You want me to tutor him in the language, or something? They might have multiple languages."

"They probably do and we really really don't want them doing any more summoning. Would you care to? We've got a temporary magic patch, it's not urgent."

"I don't object to it as an activity but I don't have room for anything like a full time job."
