"I think most of them wouldn't get much added value out of sapient toys instead of basement dwellers or computer game AIs or lemurs or something. Mostly it's people who want kids who'd really go for it. Do we have any excuse for interviewing those daeva specifically, letting you get a sense of them -?"

"If they're on any lists I could pretend I got names off a list. - it used to be the case," he says to Tireh, "that demons who take randoms were, ah, selected for being people you wouldn't want to trust, but we have been making that much less the case lately -"

"- I mean, demons don't need anything. They can make arbitrary material objects, Hell has good media recommendations, live shows appeal to some people but you rarely got that anyway because Revelation gags demons so you couldn't even say what you wanted - the ones who'd take summons were mostly doing it either because they really liked doing altruistic things for ungrateful people who treated them badly, or because they were waiting for those people to slip up. Now there are things on offer for payment which they can't get any other way, and also we're working on treating them better, so your average demon is likelier to take a summons."

"Two of these demons are on out of date Davidson's lists. I'm seeing if there's any route by which we could've heard of the others."

"Fairies were faster, it took me awhile to be sure that was consistent, there was some variance."

"If we'd been more careful we could've enforced, like, a ten minute no-summoning period in Godspring and the Ardas and then we could desync them at will, improve responses. I think one of my alts is looking into whether it's too late to implement that."
