because the other thread is super lame

my world has weapons that do the same thing as stars do except tiny, and fried ice cream, and these weird critters that scream like a girl and jump like twenty feet in the air and try to eat people

Fusion weapons are not really what I'd use to advertise our world. We do have them though.

Oh yeah? Well my world has antimatter annihilation bombs with built in containment, small enough that I can carry one on my shoulder. Oh, and when it's not busy being a rocket launcher it's an adorable little plushie critter I can snuggle. So take that!

Destruction is always easier than creation. It isn't something to brag about.

Came as a package deal with the stupid contact to fight evil, so sorry, you'd have to be a Star Guardian too. Here's a pic of Shiro for you, though! They're my laser annihilation minigun.

AWWWWWWWW he is so cute!!!

I am up for fighting evil! ESPECIALLY if i get a THAT out of it!!!

Here's Kuro as well! They're the aforementioned rocket launcher. Yes I get two of them. Jealous yet?~

I doubt they're interesting by these standards, but I find clocks rather neat.

Psh. Who ever found getting places on time fun?

I do!

My world has a runic device that lets you look at things in other libraries with the same device! Also, if you rub glass with a cloth for a while, you can get interestingly colored dusts to stick to it, which I think is neat.

Faith,

What is fried ice cream, and what are stars?

Dante,

Clocks are fun to take apart and put together! What do the inner mechanisms of yours look like?

We have the technology to freeze pockets of space in time. We call them bobbles, they last a certain amount of time relative to outside time but while they're intact they're unbreakable. We use them for all sorts of things.

@Fayet, I haven't actually taken any apart! However, a quick search suggests something like this? (That might be stylized or a piece of artwork; I'm not sure.)

uh you live in a cave right? have you ever been to the surface?

anyway fried ice cream is just what it sounds like, they take ice cream and they FRY IT and it is DELICIOUS, it totally sounds like it shouldn't work but it TOTALLY DOES

I've never been all the way out there, but I've looked at it through some of the transparent walls?

Oh! If you used a little bit of turquoise sugars or something, and started with it frozen hard enough to hold the cold, you could probably get it to stay cold enough to not melt while you battered and cooked it, yes! (Do you usually do it as little squares or big ones? I suppose little ones will be more volume to light efficient, and easier to test a lot of. I wonder if you can get layers of hot and cold like that. You'd need to eat quickly before it ran out, but it might taste really nice.)

That is an excellent idea, and thank you for sharing it and I need to go try something!

I tried the fried ice cream thing, and ended up with a milkshake. Am I doing it wrong?

Biologicals are so odd sometimes, I did look up how fried ice cream is made though. You scoop out icecream onto a sheet then freeze it really throughly, then you coat it in some tasty crumbs, like crushed cereal, then you freeze it again. Finally you fry it in a pan or deep fryer for 8-10 seconds and serve immediately.

Worked third try. Worth it.

isn't it great??? :DDD

next on list: curly fries

It's impressive how much stuff you can get a paper-tape music box to play. Despite the whole Shutdown, Earth still shares some musical trends with the rest of the Heliosphere.

Merfolk have learned to fly in recent centuries.

...With magic, admittedly, but it's quite a sight.

We recently got news of a faraway cave-in. Most of the community survived, but one of the infants was trapped and not found in time to feed. This is sad. However, two of the caretakers, whose areas of interest were living things and changes in substances, tried several procedures on slime and swimming things and deep plants until they made some kind of goop that didn't hurt to touch or poison animals. They fed it to the living infant at the end of the day, and they seem to be alive. They're pink, not teal like they're supposed to be, or green, or blue like if they were possessed. They seem to be otherwise a normal, if fussy, baby so far, but they're young enough and the cave-in was disruptive enough it's hard to tell if they're the same person, or have the same memories.

I think it's very cool that it worked, and I hope further research and experiments also succeed or show interesting things! I don't know what it means, and I want to!

That raises so many questions. What do you mean by possessed, why would someone's color change, why would the infant be a different person?

Oh, do transhumans not have it? Possession is what happens when someone breathes some of the weird air in the deep caverns, or sometimes if someone eats a lot of the weird animals or fungi that grow near them. They glow either red or blue (depending on if they're normally yellow or teal) and they act really weird. They get confused and upset and bad at moving and stop understanding other people. Red ones usually yell a lot or push people or move in circles, and blue ones usually hide or knock things over or scrape up the walls. They usually don't remember it well afterward, and it never happens to the same person twice. The infant is probably a different person because they died and are lit up a different color and behave differently. They aren't even eating teal food anymore. But they're young enough I'm not sure it matters, except that it's sad the original baby is probably gone?
