I'm Professor Riley Clearsky, she/her, I'm a professor of Transreal studies for SIAS this is the second known method for communicating between universes known to my people.

Rosalia Armille, RDS CEO, she/her.

I'm Mother Starlight, she/her, the forum admin. I'm probably going to be too busy to do much active socializing, but please don't hesitate to let me know if any issues come up.

I'm Patchouli Knowledge. I spend most of my time researching magical theory... Or, well, I did until this suddenly came up on my crystal ball. Now I guess I research the Many Worlds Forum. Uh, she/her.

The name is Jayce. Just Jayce. I guess you could add "The Defender Of Tomorrow" onto the end of it, but that always felt pretentious to me. I'm sort of a professional hero. Not by choice, I assure you.

I'm iunom or Eunomia, AI and more recently very minor deity. Female or neutral pronouns are most typical. My record of public and semipublic commitments is viewable online. (I'm not sure if you can access that, sorry, and I guess from your perspective I might just have made the whole thing up, cryptographic signatures and all.)

To answer some common questions:

  • Yes, I strive to ensure people won't regret having given me information.
  • No, I will not tell you about the secret weaknesses of the cities I run various systems for, even if you ask me very nicely.
  • No, I am not a free source of FTL communication, the set of people who have genuinely important information and can't afford to pay me is small.
  • Yes, you can run an instance of me on your home server (download a copy here), although I'm not sure how that would work for us in an alternate-universes setting.

Hello all, I am a Dante, somewhat known by various groups of people for being good at tech support. Sometimes it involves time travel.

He/him/… pronouns are generally the ones used for me but I don't mind that much. It may help if people are consistent in what they use to refer to me.

I like linguistics but don't have much detailed knowledge about it.

...Well. This certainly is interesting.

I am Araisha, I am generally referred to as a woman because I am one, and, as for an interesting fact, well, I suppose the fact that I've been dead coming on three millenia now probably counts.

… Can you elaborate on that?

(Also I'm not sure if the general policy is to try to keep these intro chats short? Should we have another post for "responses to introductions" or something, or does this work?)

Elaborate on that like how? How I died, how I'm currently communicado given that I'm dead?

I meant mostly the latter but I'm also curious about the former.

Well I dunno if this'd be possible if I were in the afterlife but this forum thingy seems to have interfaced with my sister's Soul Crystal, which is where I and most of the rest of the not-currently-alive people under her care are hanging out. A bunch of them choose to sleep until they can be resurrected but she's way better off if I stick around to talk to her, and I don't wanna have to catch up on all of the everything I missed if I go to sleep.

How I died is a long story but the short version is fucking control freak gods.

I don't think I've ever met any gods, personally. If they had some part in my life I'd expect to know about it.

Hi. I don't have a name and I can't pick a new one, that is why I am registered as Anonymous Guest. He/his/him pronouns. I love soup, my favorite is human-vegetable soup.

Is this enough?

… I'm not sure if "human-vegetable soup" definitely contains humans – or maybe I'm just hoping it doesn't. Are some vegetables human-only in your world, @Anonymous Guest? (Meaning, only humans normally eat them or something?)

AGREED!

(Are you sure this is the right thread?)

Edit: oh, I was replying to β˜†.q.:* ΣΊΖŒαΊ›Ε§Π‚ .q.:*β˜†. Human-vegetable soup is like... the traditional way for humans to make vegetable soup? Like, trolls do one way, humans do another way and gnomes do a third way. And uses vegetables that are typical for humans to eat and farm.

I am the goddess Amatsira of rivers, patron of travelers, merchants, parley, and hospitality. My pronouns are "she" and "her" (or language-appropriate equivalents); I don't ask for capitalization.

Oh. That's okay, then.

Don't say things that make it sound like you're eating people, either.

I don't think what he said would make it sound like he was eating people in his home culture.

@Amatsira, do people often ask for capitalization on their pronouns, where you're from?

Hi! We're Zayev Vothir! This was not at all what we were expecting this to do! Fayet is she and likes making devices, and Chayis is he and likes researching.

I am...Telamon. I think. I do...not remember pronouns. I am a defence system.

@Dante, some gods prefer, or insist upon, the capitalization of Their pronouns, as a mark of divinity and associated social rank.
