Eyeroll. "You can safely assume that she's comfortable moving faster than you because she is human and you are an Elf and that you're going to run much more risk of making her feel neglected and unwanted than of making her feel pressured or coerced."

"Maybe next time have bottles on hand instead of having them figure out the milk river thing? But I wasn't - scared of you or whatever you're thinking."

Nod. "Do you want to run off and get married?"

Bounce. "Is there a way to have my brothers and sisters go -"

"...Beth and John snuck out to ours but yours probably grew up and got old and died, I don't know - you can record it so they can watch it later? There are things. That do that."

"They've very fancy." He puts an arm around her. 

She smiles up at him. "That's probably close enough."

"I could have gone to a different convent that week - oh, love -"

"We should write the network and divvy the rest of them up," he says contentedly.

"It sounds weird to say it like that," giggles the newly resurrected one. "Are we all the same? Except for the one with the different species of Catherine?"

"There's one who is alive and a different species and perhaps we should go get her while she remains alive. The rest of you will be all the same, probably - oh, no, the Eclipse one will be -" his ears blush -

"Uh, Eclipse has this thing where - they don't pair off by gender? Most people don't have a gender preference it's kind of obscure - not a big deal, just obscure - but what they do have is very strong social roles around, uh, the cluster 'initiates/makes decisions/prefers having power/caretaker/provider' and the cluster that is, uh, the reciprocal of that, and you're supposed to pair off of those - I don't know how all of this played out in the early 1800s but they definitely already had, uh, the framework -"
