"I don't, like, inherently mind people seeing me naked, but they mostly react to it in ways I don't like," she shrugs. "I don't really care which of the other two options we go with but that's at least partly because I don't know what people will think if they see me in your clothes. Also, can I borrow a knife, I just had a pocket-related idea."

"Sure, borrow away. If people see you in my clothes they'll think I want to keep you, which I suppose is true in a way."

"That works, then," she shrugs. She takes a knife and cuts a horizontal strip of fabric containing a pocket out of the ruined dress, and holds it up. "I can wear it like a sash," she explains.

He laughs. "Clever. All right."

He gets dressed and puts his soul back on.

She acquires borrowed clothing and put it on and ties the pseudo-sash on over it and puts her soul in the pocket.

And then they can go see Kelora.

The change in Seofar's soul is visible, but people don't seem to be paying that close attention; no one looks surprised as they pass. He tells someone to send the translator back to Kelora's rooms.

Good, that would probably be awkward.

Kelora looks surprised.

This is not exactly surprising.

Siva had been trying to act subdued in the halls so people wouldn't go "what the fuck why does this girl look happy to be here" but when she sees Kelora she can't help but grin and bounce up on her toes a little in smug glee.

She looks at Siva, looks at her father, looks at Siva again, looks at her father again, and settles there.

"I killed Nahira and I don't care about this place anymore," he says. "Not sure I ever did. I'm going to bring you to your grandfather, dump the whole problem on him, and run away with Nentiane Siva to another world."

"...well that's... a solution, I suppose."

Siva takes her soul out of her pocket to show Kelora.

"Congratulations."

Seofar snorts.

"I told you I didn't need to be as scared of him as of Nahira," Siva chirps.

"...Sorry, I can tone it down."

"I am glad you are happy," she says sincerely.

"Thanks. ...It was good advice, this was all really improbable."

She nods.

Seofar smiles down at Siva.

...it's very weird seeing her father openly care about someone.

Is it also weird seeing someone so happy to be around him because she's beaming back.

Yes. That is also very weird.

"...I'll make travel arrangements," she says. "I would rather not drag Ishmiote Odeno all the way to Grandfather's palace; do you think you can manage without a translator for a few days?"
