They asked, of course they did, the easiest thing for small children to do. They would ask where in Brazil they are from? What was like there? And why are their names so weird?

The problem is that they couldn't really tell them the truth, not while the triplets are so young.

The truth is that they didn't come from Brazil and instead came from another world. Not in the sense of a different planet in this universe, but an entire different universe with magic.

And that would be the easiest part to talk about. Even years later, their mother couldn't find the courage to talk why they decided to come to Earth.

Eventually, they decide to reveal that their parents aren't from Brazil. The triplets were born there before the family settled in the United States.

(It is always good to know when your parents have lied to you)

But why everything else?

Their religion forbids them to falsely claim their names...

Which religion?

(The triplets have at one point or other mentioned something about religion and got non-answers. They were okay with this, mostly because their experience with classmates talking about religion implied that it involved a lot of boring Sunday mornings).

It is complicated. But nothing the triplets have to worry about.
