"I think... Probably it won't matter either way, but if things go bad, you can help them from getting worse. If I run into that collar-maker, I'm going to run away and he almost definitely can't get me. So, It'll probably be fine, but you could be near juuuust in case it's not fine. But it'd probably be fine."

"Okay! Luna will follow. Fox will say when to wait. Then it will be fine even if there are bad things!"

"Yeah, I'm not immune to the siren song of backup." She chuckles a bit. "I use a magic sled to go fast. Kind of like a car. Maybe you should bring along a little food and ride it, so we go fast. Though..."

She yawns again. "Could get some sleep first. And I don't want to sleep, um, next to you actually, I think."

"Oh."

Luna backs off a little.

"Then Luna will sleep somewhere else."

She eases out of bed and crawls away.

"Sorry."

Sigh.

Well, a full night's sleep will make everything else later. Even if she still sometimes gets a sympathetic headache from the fact that there's NO COFFEE. Or tea. Or soda.

Sleep: Is. The next morning, she idly starts recreating a hopefully better version of her air-producing mask thing for a bit, until Luna shows up.

Luna is just outside, restocking the smokehouse fire for a nice long burn. The fire won't last until they're back, but it'll help keep her hard work from going to waste.

Wynn will use magic to seal up the smokehouse a bit better. It's pretty quick, and she's here already...

Then, they're off. Knowing the path this time, and growing steadily more confident in her magic sled, enough to speed up considerably, they should make very quick progress.

Luna stocks her bag with supplies before they go... food, mostly.

She rides along with Wynn for a little bit, then gets bored and starts running alongside. Her strange quadrupedal gait allows her to keep up easily, and there's something odd with the air as she leaps over obstacles. Despite Wynn's improved design, it seems clear that her worries were unfounded; between the two of them, Luna's slightly faster on flat terrain, and much better at handling obstructions.

Yikes, Luna would be monstrous to fight.

Not that she's running into many obstructions. She picks a slightly weaving path, following flat terrain and gentle curves between hills, avoiding any especially craggy areas and the slow-down they represent. They speed past herds of horses, goats, and wolves alike.

One of the wolves is briefly foolish enough to growl at the travellers. Luna's pounce is like a blonde missile, and there's a strange crack when she makes contact... and then the wolf just falls apart in a heap of bloody meat. Wynn is just able to catch some strange distortions in the air dissipating around Luna's hands as she returns to the sled, gnawing on a bleeding leg-stump.

The rest of the wolves quickly run off, unwilling to fight something that can do that.

Luna has some pretty sweet isekai powers too, that's pretty clear, yep.

Once they start seeing signs of civilization, she looks for her old camp, the one just barely south of what can be considered "tamed" territory. Avoiding any roads and patrols, of course.

As before, there isn't any civilization until they cross the river, which isn't that much harder for the two to do without a bridge. Even on the far side, civilization seems pretty clustered around the road; no one wants to be too far out of sight of the nominal safety of a patrol route. With a conservative choice of route, it's not particularly difficult for the pair to get to the old campsite without being seen.

"Here's where I camped last time. I'm going to sneak in to see Daisy... Here." She binds a dead-simple tiny glow rune into a random rock, leaving the link open back to her. Rune magic, channeled, not runebinding. "If this stops glowing or I don't come back until morning, it means I need help. I'm going to sneak into the town, inside the big spikey wall that way, and then sneak back out. It should be fine, though."

Luna nods seriously.

"If glowy rock stops glowing, Luna will come!"

"Great! Thanks for being here to help if things go south."

So... If she sneaks up in the middle of the night again, are the guards any more diligent than before? She still has her noise-cancelling thingamajig. Can she get into the town unseen again?

It's darker tonight than it was last time; the moon seems smaller, dimmer, and less-active, and there's a bit of cloud cover. The visibility is mostly limited to torches, which has to be a good thing for stealth... but on the other hand, the guards aren't obviously slacking off tonight. Bit of a tossup, really.

Darkness is her friend. She has her dark cloak on again, and knows the path to the apothecary. And she can afford to be slow and careful, as long as she keeps hold of that tiny tether of mana linked to that pebble...

She makes her way to the apothecary, pausing often and being careful not to be spotted.

The guards don't spot Wynn as she sneaks over the wall, and the dark streets offer plenty of places to hide. She arrives at her destination without incident.

She knocks out the shave-and-a-haircut pattern on the apothecary back window - da-dada-da-dun .. dun-dun.

After a short while, Daisy appears at the back door, looking noticeably less pregnant, and carrying a covered basket.

"Hi. So... What's up? You want to leave this place, or just have me plant these..." She makes a bit of a face. "Somewhere out of the way? Or what?"

Daisy frowns.

"I definitely want to plant these myself, but I'll need help getting to a suitable place. After that, well... can we talk about it on the way?"

"Sure, definitely. Hm. Think anyone will stop you from just walking out? And meeting me south of the town. I snuck in again. I can take the basket over but I'm fast, not especially strong."

Daisy considers this.

"The gates are kept shut at night, except for the guards coming and going. There's nothing to stop me from leaving in the morning, though."
