I am the story of "she played tricks and made friends and loved easily and helped the people she cares about find happiness and success" incarnate. If I resist the urge to be friendly and tricksy and loving and helpful, I will probably start feeling really fucking awful. If I resist the mania and energy too much, slow down other than when it's specifically about spending time with people I care about, I will probably start feeling really fucking awful. If I try to deny that every person I see is worthy of love and I could figure out how if I spent five minutes getting to know them, I will probably start feeling really fucking awful.

I don't know what acting contrary to my archetype would do to me. I really don't want to find out.

Her face is uncharacteristically flat. Her tails lash nervously.

Clearly it is time for A Hug.

"That sounds scary. I don't know if I should be ... Sorry?"

It is so time for A Hug. Sable sinks into the hug gratefully. Two of her tails wrap tightly around Lenora. The third stretches out at an angle that hopefully casually indicates that Bys is welcome to hug if she wants but is not remotely obligated to.

Nothing to apologize for. It's mostly amazing and thrilling. It's really easy to be like that all the time. It's just being more of what I already am, y'know?

But it is kinda scary, 'cause my own magical nature is Mastering me. I have a hard time even stopping long enough to give some thought to whether anything might be bothering me, 'cause almost any time I might do that there are people I could be MTDG-ing at. S'part of why I got in the habit of waking up early, actually. I was always a little Like This, even before I Awakened, and spending time when I know I can't possibly be keeping anyone waiting really helps with figuring myself out and resetting a bit.

Bys hesitantly reaches out as if to - handshake the tail - puts her hand back down and stands awkwardly.

If Bys is gonna be shy about it then the tail will just come to her. She zips the tail out and gently wraps it around her wrist.

I actually seem to have the talent for consortation. Demon summoning. I don't know enough about it but just the basic idea seems really sketchy. Glasses guy wanted me to try it, though.

Sable is not unhugging until Lenora makes a move to, but she is seriously considering expanding the hug to include Bys.

Huh, interesting! I haven't looked closely enough into Hell yet, but there have got to be ethical uses for Consortation. Well, I'm glad to help you look into it at any point, and you are totally welcome to get some hugs for how stressful that's gotta be.

I'd think that summoning demons is pretty undeniably evil? I mean, Demons. From Hell. Who probably want to torture people and stuff.

He said the demons are having a bad time too. Pick a random World War two German soldier. Are they irredeemable? Probably not. Lots of them weren't even actual nazis, not part of Hitler's party.

But need 2 research.

Even if you get a demon that wants to do evil things, you can probably lock 'em down with a sufficiently tight contract. But well, I'm biased toward seeing everything and everyone as redeemable, so definitely need to research.

"You two can have fun at the library. I want to go find a practice field or one of the jobs I was referred to. Or wait, we still have to actually discuss classes. I think Bys and I both want to figure out familiars? And we both have witchery potential," she squeezes Sable a bit firmer.

So much squeeze and hug. "Familiars: totally worth figuring out. But yeah, let's think about classes. Maybe... classes, then familiars, then depart for whatever the fuck we all decide to do."

She tosses a quick Sending at Lenora while she muses about classes.

Are we telling Bys about the fact that we're dating or at least mutual crushes who are making out? Also what are we calling us?

"Highest priority classes for me are probably Runes, Portals, and Witchery. Let's see, is there an internal class schedule site somewhere around here?"

She pulls out her phone and starts tapping at it, then finds one and starts opening tabs for the schedules of various subjects.

I think she can tell? We are going to be kind of obvious sooner or later. I'm not shy.

The slightly wary look she's giving Bys might mean she has slightly more complicated feelings.

"Witchery, and then Fire and maybe Water."

"Alchemy and hexes. And divination, maybe?"

Yeah, it'll probably be pretty obvious sooner or later. You are of course allowed to want more complex things, though, and I will do my damnedest to help with that.

Let's see... Here's a list of Witchery schedules for R2 and up, and here's Portals, and here's Runes, and here's Fire, and then Water, and Alchemy, and Hexes, and Divination. Do they have a way of doing all of this in one calendar? They do! Okay, let's mash all this together. Three people, two of which are taking a Witchery class (ideally together), and then they're each taking these individual things. Can the drama club be plotted on this as well? Not all of their meetings are regularly scheduled in advance, so not completely, but it looks like some of the meetings can. Okay, throw that on too in her column. Aaaand, there we go. She spins it around to face the others.

"Preferences for times of day?"

"I'd prefer mornings. I wake up early."

"Not a morning person. ...Oh. My. God. I'll actually have weekends for once! I never get weekends off!"

"Yay weekends!"

She taps through some options, starts putting together some possibilities. "Lenora, would you prefer a first class at ten, eleven, or noon? Bys: seven, eight, nine, or ten?"

"Ten works. Maybe Witchery first, that seems less intense than the other stuff I want to do."

"Eight. If I do miss it I hear I can make up sessions later, anyway."

Well, in that case she slaps together a schedule that features Bys's Alchemy at eight, followed by Divination at ten thirty and Hexes at one, shared Witchery at ten for her and Lenora, Firecalling and Waterworking at one thirty (Monday-Wednesday-Friday and Tuesday-Thursday respectively, each in three hour blocks), and similar afternoon sessions for Portals and Runes for herself.

"Okay, how's this?"

"Do you know what this place's homework deal is like? Also I guess we look at familiars in our copious free time?"

She pulls up the various syllabi. "Looks like... Huh! They have different homework policies for academics, sorceresses, and warlocks: more essays and analyses, practice drills, and field assignments, respectively. That's really impressively reasonable of them."
