Bella has Jaromira's number written down, just for redundancy.
Hey guess who is outside your enclave

that came out weirdly threatening sorry this is Bella and some accompanying surprises

I was going to facetiously guess Julia Sanderson and actually in my head guess you. Congratulations on finding an alternate universe apparently!

It's very exciting and I wish I'd done it on purpose!

I'll be right out.

After a couple of seconds, there is the sound of footsteps, and then the door to the closet with the enclave entrance opens.

"Surprises! Yes, I am surprised. Uhhhhhh does this alternate universe have the ability to raise the dead."

"--Yes but now I'm curious why that's your first question."

"Well, I suppose they're probably--not actually the people I'm thinking of, inasfar as you're not me--Bella, remember those two Chicago kids who came in the same year as us and died sophomore year?"

"Not really as individuals but I did hear that the last gasp of Chicago died, why?"

She points at Eliza and Johann. "Aside from the age and the hair and the wheelchair--and the, uh, cat ears--dead ringers."

"--Well, I'm sorry to hear they're dead--I'm Eliza Gottlieb and this is my boyfriend, Johann," are they keeping secrets or not--Bella's in on this secret and Kanimir doesn't lie to her so probably she doesn't lie to Kanimir and Kanimir probably doesn't lie to Jaromira-- "Faust."

"Eliza Godfrey and Justinian Fermi. Interesting name choices on your parent's part," she adds to Johann.

"--Not a coincidence, long story."

"How'd they die?"

"--I'm not sure exactly. I think something happened to a class they were in? But, uh, I was kind of more concerned with not dying than with investigating how other people died."

"Fair enough."

"I don't remember either, I think Suze had a friend whose little cousin died in the same incident so it must have been a moderately sized one but I'd be just as likely mixing it up with someone else if I tried to recall what specifically."

"Well, I don't know off the top of my head of any way to resurrect someone who isn't a particular race of witch without access to the bodies, but we can work on that at some point when the more urgent mal-related situation is dealt with. --Some witches can generate mana really fast so Bella is proposing a honeypot trap to draw in lots and lots of mals and have Orion Lake and/or a bunch of witches kill everything."

"--That is a great plan but I do have one big concern, which is, can even Orion Lake kill a maw-mouth. I mean, I know the Shanghai dominus did, but, uh, I don't know much about how--I guess we could try to talk to the Shanghai dominus, maybe we'd even have a chance if the witches thing becomes a sufficiently well-known big deal--"

"Yeah, we should definitely try to get a meeting with him."

"There's also--should we deliberately avoid having it be strong enough to draw the mals out of the graduation hall. They got in in the first place so they might be able to get out, and--the maw-mouth the Shanghai dominus killed was only regular sized."

"It might depend on what his method was and how he thinks it'd scale. If we manage to wreck the mal population on Earth thoroughly enough and retain the ability to re-up it we might just want to decommission the school in a way that doesn't let the mals in there back out."

"--That would be good. As long as we can salvage the students first."

"Yeah. I'm sure it can be evacuated, though in the worst case I guess it might be intractable to do it any way besides stopping new inductions."

"I'm sure the seniors won't love the idea of the mals not having softer squishier freshman to go after instead but they can deal."

"I mean, no, they can't, many of them will die if we do it that way, but it will not be a total loss of the student population."

"Probably fewer of them will die than the typical body count of a freshman class!"
