"I could with a workshop and a crochet hook!"

"I can cover the three of us with an incantation but it'll be mana-expensive to keep doing it for long."

"Our best way to cover you is copious amounts of ambient fire. It wouldn't be dangerous but, uh, probably best if you just hand me your crystal when you get low, and somebody pats me every so often so I can cover it." 

"I volunteer for headpat duty."

"Works for me!" 

It isn't, actually, necessary for Professor Agrippa to cast Archive to put the image of the location they're gating to on a piece of paper; Sending works just fine with images, and she doesn't need to compare the image of their location with anybody else, she just needs to go there. 

She pushes down the overprotective impulse to interpret the headpat offer as flirting and give this girl the shovel talk. 

As soon as Bella's ready with the incantation, the rift snaps open and she steps through to the icy wasteland on the other side. 

Bella sings in French. She doesn't actually have a power sink on her, just the sharer; she holds hands with Caio, who holds out his sharer to Lisao, who is patted on the head by an amused Aadhya.

Aadhya will keep them so full of mana!

"I need you to Send me images of where you need to go." 

"Can we start with me, my parents will have flown in -"

"We can borrow phones there, right?"

"Yes, both my parents have phones."

"Okay by me."

Bella sends the image of the New Orleans enclave main entrance, where her family should be waiting.

Gate goes up. 

Bella hurries through.

Her teammates follow her quick before her spell wears off.

The witches follow, the rift snapping closed behind the last of them. 

"- probably my mother's in there and my dad'll be in a hotel or something," mutters Bella, "uh, witches hang back, no idea how you interact with enclaves..." She approaches the door and enters a code and scans her palm and sings a short spell and it lets her in.

"I guess it was silly to imagine they'd still be standing around."

"Yeah..." 

She takes her mother's hand, gently rubbing the back with her thumb. Partly because Mom worries, and "parent thinks their child is dead" is a situation that has to be hitting a nerve, and partly because her mom just spent a whole bunch of mana. This is less efficient than headpats, but also more dignified, and Mom has such a thin face. 

It doesn't look like there are any mundanes around at the moment but Jaromira takes a moment to give her Garment a cape that covers her wings anyway. 

Katarzyna pulls out a perfectly mundane (well, except for all the runic enchantments, but at any rate not a Mothergift) shawl. 

Melody just sort of shuffles herself into the middle of the group and tries not to draw too much attention.
