Tim's lounging in the approximate center of a painted 50-foot circle. Anyone coming near this circle had better be read in on Tim's buff, Or Else. Nobody has to be right on top of him, but anybody leaving the circle is going to get dropped right away.
"Yes, thank you!" Slow breath, "I have some backlash." She's holding hands with two espers at once. At this rate they're going to make a whole guiding handholding ring.
Well, they are in a ring together... "So, what's the deal with the Dunegeon, anyway? I haven't been keeping up on the news, I got dumped into S&R after Sara went off sensing for victims."
"It got stronger. Secondary," slow breath, "portals where worms," slow breath, "come out. Back then," slow breath, "they only came through," slow breath, "the main portal."
"Oh." Considerable pause. "Well, shit. I guess before we tried to bottleneck it, and now we really can't."
"Yeah. I heard Union Station got wrecked. And the Royal Ontario Museum. They're getting more sensor support in, to try and find the core. Given how much damage it's managed to do in a day..."
Tim's...heard of Union Station, he thinks Sara mentioned it once? But museums being destroyed are bad. "Yeah, that's my girl." Tim, the fuck? "Uh, my partner. Menhir, she's a sensor. If you want to know where the nearest gold vein is, she's the one who can tell you." Seriously, the fuck?!?! He shifts long enough to put a note in his phone.
"Hope they get it. One of," slow breath, "my coworker sensors is," slow breath, "here too, but just," slow breath, "doing S&R. Heliotrope. He's," slow breath, "one of the ones putting," slow breath, "the victim location pins," slow breath, "on the map."
"My partner is a sensor but they've just got him on all the little dungeons. He's pretty new and somebody's got to do sensor wok for those too. Also he finds people and doesn't do mapping as such."
"I can't tell if I'm glad I got pulled for this one or not. The little ones weren't nearly this..." Tim gestures at the mauled Toronto skyline. "Well, like this."
"it's pretty nasty. I'm glad my parents are out of the danger zone, they're out in the suburbs."
"Brampton for me. Have you called your parents to let them know what's up, or do you not have that kinda relationship?"
"I said you weren't feeling well, because when I said I could tell them you'd been crying on me for two hours you tried to bite my phone."
"There's a reason for my rules. Would'a bit straight through it." He'll re-occupy himself with trying a better braid, now that he's no longer quite so moody, how about that.
"Hbblpfeeeuuugh," she splutters, picturing the results of such an endeavour. "Boy howdy am I glad I wasn't in the superpower pit at that point."
She stifles a giggle at 'tried to bite my phone', it's very inappropriate and unkind to laugh at things people did wile awakening. Unless they're laughing first.
"I ended up crying a lot during my awakening. Because eventually I was too exhausted to come up with words and couldn't just shut up."
"Yeah, I probably shouldn't even have mine out, honestly. I've got a few spares, but. Eh. It's probably fine." Okay, this braid isn't turning out quite so badly, it's a little loose but it's not awful...
"I wonder if," slow breath, "you can get a," slow breath, "custom phone. That," slow breath, "doesn't break with," slow breath, "your power."
"You could," slow breath, "probably get a," slow breath, "brand deal. Commercial." Slow breath. "People already," slow breath, "know you. From," slow breath, "Montpelier. Your facility."
"Hah! You could partner with, what's the one who used to be famous for the really tough phones again....?"
Tim grins a bit at that. "On the high end, I grind rocks to dust. It was easier to just buy ten forty-dollar phones." Nevermind that the high end should only be used in dungeons, I'm allowed to show off a little. "And uh, I'm really not...suited...to be a spokesman or anything. I had a teacher who told me I had all the stage presence of a paper towel, once. She got in trouble, but she wasn't wrong."
"You'd probably need dunjamats which is kinda hard to turn into a brand. Is Nokia even still around? I think it was them.. I'd take an absurdly durable phone though if I could get one. I back up my photos but my contacts list is done up all fancy for me to make it easy to use."
