"Awakening fucking sucks," April announces.

"It totally does," Jamie pats Zei on the shoulder. "Ly is still out there, d'you have room for a bit more guiding?" He offers Tim a hand- and also April one, just in case?

Sure sounds good.

"-oh, not bad!" He does not let go of the awakening esper's hand, instead just scooching closer to the pair of them. 

"hblrfhlgl," says the awakening esper. "Well it's not the sun shining out of God's own asshole but it's better than nothing, that's for sure."

"Whahahat?" He has to get the word out through the giggle. 

He accepts the hand.  It's not, objectively, incredible guiding, but the more the better.  April may or may not be notice that he's increasing his power use - his skin will feel better in that ineffable guiding way.  "She was really, really glad to stop crying.  You're welcome to join us, if you like.  I may have to uh, kick you out if Sara shows up - I need to make sure she's guided."  Apologetic smile.

"In my defense. Awakening fucking sucks."

This statement can be rewarded with sympathetic backpetting.  "It really does."

He sits with them, then! 

"That's fine, Ly will show up on the big boat eventually. It's just, you know, nice to get some more of my vision and hearing back in the meantime." 

If they check they will notice that his eyes are a bit unfocused, if pointed in their direction. 

Correction, Jamie.  He doesn't 'sit with them', he gets squished into them.  Tim's gotta use his own power on himself for safety, he might as well get to enjoy it.  A split-second after, Tim's struck by self-doubt - what if April isn't okay with it?  But April's understandable antipathy towards her backlash lets him steer clear of another spiral.

Also, the crying jag from earlier helped.  He's not as tense as usual.

Yeah she is totally on board with this development. The April Awakening Cuddlepile begins.

Jamie is also super onboard with being squished! Actually- 

"Not to be insensitive, Tim, but d'you mind if I maybe nap a little?" He's been out practically since the dungeon showed up, he could really use it. 

"Yeah, go for it.  You can snooze here, if you want, or you can grab a cot."  If Jamie wants to get up, Tim will unsquish him enough to enable it.

Nope, Jamie wants to be squished. Why is he less squished? He will squish himself closer to compensate. 

"If someone with better compat with one'a you and tinfoil with me comes by you can kick me out, but I'll stay for now otherwise." 

Well, fine.  One cute little blond can get squished up to his chest.  "Sleep tight, then."

New patient! She is being wheeled into the circle. She has burns and bruises all over the left side of her body.

There's a DRT operative with her. "Do I need to stay with her or keep out of the circle? Her partner isn't here right now — he got delayed."

"Keep out of the circle, please - you're okay to drop her off, but I'm picking up everyone within 50 feet of me and if you don't have anything wrong with you, that's juice that could be going to someone who does."  Ooooh, that's nasty.  Burns are awful.  Good for my power, though.  "Set her down wherever."  He stifles a yawn.  This many cuddles is...actually kind of nice?  Hm.  Something to think about later.  After Arrakis, maybe.

"Got it. She has a moderate amount of backlash on her — backlash is fever. If anyone is up for guiding her, that would be good for her," he says before locking the wheeled ambulance stretcher in place and walking out.

Parabola sighs slightly as she feels Aumento's power start to affect her, and she opens her eyes. She has really bright green eyes, almost neon.

"Ma'am, I just need you to stay still, okay?  You'll feel better soon, but my power makes you stronger.  Just don't move at all, okay?  It's probably - " DEFINITELY " - going to be itchy.  Don't try to scratch it, or you'll tear your clothes up.  Just hold still best you can, okay?"

Oh, right, that's also a component of his power. She just remembers him as "the new esper who bought a movie theatre in Vermont and turned it into a regen hospital".

Breathing hurts right now and so she doesn't really feel like speaking. She just smiles to indicate that she understands.

Thumbs-up!  He can let a patient recover.  This is his skillset: apply a buff, cuddle, and be quiet.  Recently, though, he's considering branching out.  Maybe he can fingercomb April's hair, she hasn't really gotten a shower recently, she's probably got some gunk in it.  And it's not like he has anything else he could be doing.
