I'm more in an uncanny valley of forthcomingness than not being forthcoming at all, wouldn't you say?

It's not informative to say that a rock or a person I've never encountered or something written in Chinese is not forthcoming with me. You are forthcoming enough to be 'not forthcoming' as opposed to not usefully described that way.

The vampiric one is safely dead (although kind of unrelatedly doomed) but I'm not actually sure whether the other one counts.  There's no obvious curse-y trap he's liable to fall into; you can use normal as-equals advising to keep him away from making sacrifices for the greater good and you two should be fine.
