"Eekoshi..."

She takes his advice, and also picks a burrito she hasn't seen on the menu back home. Then they can relocate to a table to wait for their food to be ready.

"Mm... Picnic," she remembers. "Though, we were planning to stay out late, weren't we? To watch the stars."

Tim wants an appetizer of queso fundido with their rice, and some chips to scoop it up in.  Then an enormous salad to go with it.  "Well, it's not like I have anywhere to go tomorrow, unless you turn out to be a serial killer and I have to hide in a hotel."  Little bit of a grin with his tongue poking out.

"That's true!" She waves a wrapped straw at him menacingly, "No promises. A picnic would be nice, though, yes."

Tim pretends to cringe away in fear from the straw.  "I've got a list of all the sandwich stuff available from the local grocery store, I think those are traditional."  He looks a little melancholy for a moment, and his mouth curls twists a bit at one side.  "That way, you can pick out what you like.

Ah, he's being mysterious again. Hmmm...

"Are you saying we can't take lasagna for our picnic?"

"Ma'am, you're armed with a straw.  You can bring whatever you want to this picnic.  Nobody could possibly stop you."

She giggles.

"Hm, why don't we do something a little more fun? We could bring fruits and jams and maybe I could make some bannock? Or maybe sandwiches for lunch, and then we could cook some food for dinner. We might need a cooler, but that shouldn't be hard to get our hands on."

"I'd love to eat your bannock, it's been years since I've gotten any!  I've already got a little camp stove and my backpack has a slot that perfectly fits my cooler, it's not huge but we're not going to be out there for a week."  Tim is currently putting Action Items into his phone.

"Hm, do you have a fishing license? And is there good fishing there this time of year, I suppose. Fresh caught fish would be nice, if we can get it- or we could buy some before we leave."

"Oh, yes, I've got a permanent one.  I thiiiink that pond is stocked.  We should bring something in case the fish aren't biting, but that would be a lot of fun if we can get something and cook it!"

Nod! "So we'll need to pick up a nice fish, and we'll need flour, baking soda, salt, oil, and clean water, for the bannock. Maybe I could do something with berries for the fish..." She trails off, humming to herself as she attempts to imagine how the flavours would combine.

Notes notes!  Tim is happy to write down a shopping list for Sara's culinary needs, and also to eat this delicious fundido.  Can Sara be distracted by the offer of a chip dipped in cheesy sauce and rice?

Yes, yes she can! She will omf it out of his fingers and make appreciative noises. Berries who? There is only delicious cheese.

Right???  It's so good!  Thankfully they don't have to watch their figures too much, or at least Tim doesn't.  He's willing to hand-feed Sara delicious cheesy goodness unless and until she decides that she's a strong, independent esper who can put her OWN cheese in her OWN mouth.  Or until she realizes she wants to save some room for her sampler.

No such thing as an independent Esper! However Sara will eventually free his hands and take a few chips herself.

(Sampler who? But there is only cheese!)

"Blackberries," she eventually decides, between bites.

"Blackberries, got it."  Tim dutifully puts that on the list of things to order.  They're not local this time of year, but through the power of delivery, they'll be on the doorstep tomorrow along with whatever other foods Sara has requested.  By now, their main courses have arrived!  Salad, your days are numbered.

Oh right, her sampler.

She nudges the platter between them, before focusing on her burrito. Thoughts about the food of tomorrow can wait until they've finished the food of today

Timothy steadily shovels his way through the salad.  It's a good thing I don't need to pop a button anymore.  This is so good, I love this dressing they put on it. And he steals one of Sara's sampler tacos, the chicken one.

That's why it's in the middle!

The burrito is packed away quickly, and then she moves on to sampling. Some of the options are a little spicy for her tastes, and she unfortunately has the cilantro gene and has to pass on anything containing it. But she finds a number of things she likes, and makes a mental note to order them again later.

That's so sad for her!!!  But Tim will happily take care of everything cilantro-related for her.  It's his duty, as her prospective partner, you see.

A true gentleman, Tim is.

"I'll have to ask them to hold the cilantro next time," she comments as she finishes off the last of the cilantro-free options. "So I can try everything else."

"If I'd realized it was an issue, I would have mentioned it.  Whooof."  Tim may have overeaten slightly.  Another casualty of the cilantro gene.

"I should have realized, too. The restaurant I go to at home has a little mark to show what has no cilantro, but I always order the same things there, so I forgot."

She peers at him.

"Are we going to have to roll you home?"

"Um.  Maybe.  It was so good, though...I'm not getting to go on that run tonight, am I."

She covers a giggle, shaking her head.

"Maybe you could do more tai chi?"
