Stef is sobbing into the snow.

:I....:

Nevermind.

(Dara has been kind of ignoring Rolan for the last quarter-candlemark, because nothing he was saying to her was even slightly helpful.)

She.....will address all four of the random teenagers in Mindspeech? Which she's not very good at, due to not actually being an incredibly strong Mindspeaker, but she does not exactly want to ask Rolan for any things right now.

:....Sorry, can we - get back to a tent?:

Shannon is not really processing anything, anymore.

Raleigh jumps.

"I - all right -?" He tries to tug Shannon toward the girl who is apparently doing a telepathy at him.

Rebecca would like to SIT DOWN. And eat something, she ate very lightly right before graduation, just a soda and a couple packets of candy for enough quick energy to get through the hall, she wants food, she's suddenly really hungry.

Stef is not going to move right now, because nothing matters anymore.

Dara.....is going to try to make that someone else's problem? And instead attempt to point the random teenagers toward a tent that she thinks shouldn't have anyone in it since she's about 70% sure she saw all of the soldiers who were sleeping there get set on fire by the stupid goddamned Ifteli priest-mage.

...The tent is, in fact, empty. And significantly warmer than the air outside. She gestures for them to go in, rather than wasting energy on Mindspeech.

Cozy. Rebecca sits. Any joy on food?

Dara is interrupted with a Mindspeech communication five seconds later, and makes an apologetic gesture before running off.

Raleigh pulls Shannon into the tent and flops down next to Rebecca. Oooh, warm.

".....I still have no idea what's happening here," he admits.

Shannon is still crying. She's trying to do it quietly, at least, but she can't seem to stop.

Well, that's kind of embarrassing. Raleigh is just...not going to comment? And pretend this isn't happening?

Rebecca will hug her. The nice thing about hugs is that they are reciprocal.

Hug! Rebecca gives very good hugs.

She really needs to pull herself together, but it's very hard. For some reason she can't stop thinking about all the people she knew, who died. Their faces. Their names. Everyone who she couldn't save but it's not like she was ever trying for that? That would have been a stupid thing to try for?

....Shannon sniffles and takes a deep breath and steps on her stupid feelings as hard as she can.

Hug hug hug. Rebecca wants her mom and her dad and her brothers and sisters, she wants to spend Christmas with Grandma, she wants to fly out to see Zeke and go to a dozen shows on Broadway with him and see if they work on the outside...

But for now she will hug Shannon and wait.

Shannon leans on Rebecca's shoulder and takes deep breaths until she manages to get the inexplicable crying under control. She still feels like it's very unfair that - whatever the heck just happened - made her burst into tears and didn't do that to the others?

Raleigh takes her hand and squeezes it. Feelings are allowed here; they made it out alive, they're adults now...

He is still not sure that he himself is actually managing to have any feelings? It's weirdly hard to tell if he is or not, though.

"Rebecca, Orion - are you all right?"

"...what do you, like, mean."

"I think I'm fine?" Orion checks himself for injuries like something could have bitten him while he wasn't looking.

Well, Shannon clearly isn't and Raleigh has no idea what the weird singing teenager did to her! He would be kind of pissed about it, except for how it's hard to be angry with someone who immediately afterward collapsed in tears.

"...How much mana do either of you have," he says, for lack of anything else to say. "I - it might be worth doing some mana building, since..." He trails off. Shrugs. "War zone and all."

Sniffle. "Not much. I can do some plank, I guess." At least it'll distract her.
