Okbo is busy gnawing on a bone. (Manticore. He's been working at it a while. He trusts his Pack Leader to keep it safe for him when they're Working, but they are not right now. So it is his.)

Jubilost, as is his way, arrives to disturb the peace.

"Ugggggh, dwarves," he sighs dramatically, to the absolute worst party member to complain about dwarves to.

Ekundayo raises an eyebrow.

"Your hunt for diamonds went poorly?" he wonders, not looking up from his work.

"Excuse me?" replies Jubilost, a little offended at the implication he might not have succeeded at finding some rocks in a dwarven city. "No, no, don't be ridiculous, it's going fine, the diamond for the Raise should be cut in two to three days, and I have a lead for something for a Resurrection, it's just it was all..." He gestures, expansively. "They take all of the fun out of the art of negotiation, you know!"

He does not. There is little fun in negotiation.

But he is himself, not Jubilost, so he says nothing.

"Well, it's all tidily agreed upon profit margins and long-scheduled deliveries with regular outputs, and absolutely no playing different vendors against each other for the best pricing. And everyone is terribly loyal to their previously made deals, can't get anywhere with a good bribe at all!"

... That just sounds like being efficient and honest?

He continues to say nothing.

It's so annoying how he won't rise to any bait Jubilost offers. He might as well be complaining to a brick wall, for all the reaction he's getting out of the ranger.

"Ugh, well. Whatever, all of the work likely to turn my hair grey is done. How about your errand, hm?"

"The lich is dead."

"It was already long dead, you know, and this language doesn't properly specify -"

Being without their social party members is terrible, and Ekundayo is being oppressed. He sighs, and wishes himself patience.

"The lich. Has been put to rest," he repeats, in Osiriani, which is better about specifying undead being made properly dead, what with its historic use of mummies.

"Oh, well, good job, finishing off a downed and helpless enemy without assistance."

This does not cause Ekundayo to look up from his work, but his brow tenses a little. Torag, grant him the patience of stone... He knows, logically, that what is going on is that Jubilost has had an unpleasant time, and is lashing out in his gnomish sardonic way, but it sure is annoying.

Yes, it is annoying to be a member of a species whose literal lifespan relies on being entertained. You might as well be a good sport for your party member's long term health and play along.

"Gruff," says Okbo, as the one in the room most capable of cutting through this tension. He gnaws at his bone in a protective way that belies wanting someone to try and steal it from him.

...

"... Yes, all right," sighs Jubilost, and he will suffer the indignity of playing with the dog instead of having a proper civilized argument.

This is the best solution to everyone involved, really. Ekundayo will make no comment about whether it is or is not cute, but it's certainly preferable to being poked by a gnome for entertainment.

Also: Okbo is a wolf. Not a dog.

And also a very good boy, who knows the value of play to lessen intra-pack tensions!

Certainly more socially aware than his human, that's for sure.

Sunheart finishes praying for her spells and casts Commune.

Would Sivetrys Lisaev be advancing Sarenrae's values by attempting to call her cleric Tristian using Planar Binding?

YES

Should Sivetrys Lisaev assume that Luminary Tristian is being affected by a powerful compulsion spell?

YES

Oh dear. Poor Tristian...

She hurries (well, strides purposefully) for the room where Sivetrys is staying.

Sivetrys is crafting peacefully, occasionally giving scritches to the large predatory cat that is lounging on her lap.

She looks up at the knock. She kind of lost track of time a bit. Is it past dawn? It might be past dawn.

"Come in," she says.

Sunheart enters. "Dawn greet you," she says. "I have just finished with the Commune. The Everlight answered 'Yes' to both of your questions." She looks sympathetic.
