Yeah, soothing. A nice way to end the day.

Definitely.

She has more classes the next day, of course... One at eight in the morning, then food so her sister won't nag her too much, then she heads over to Ellie's office early enough she can get there right around eleven.

The door is locked (much more securely than the classroom door) until it is actually eleven, at which point it unlocks from inside.

She doesn't try to pick it. Seems rude.

She heads in once she hears the lock click.

Ellie looks up.

"Ah, Miss Ryder."

Sudden scowl.

Ugh, that name isn't a good way to start this off.

She - doesn't want to snap at the pretty girl though, even though this is the fourth time this week...

So, she tries to keep her tone even and her expression not quite as annoyed. She mostly kinda succeeds. Ish.

"I don't go by that," she says, tightly. "Just - Miss Kelsang, if you want to be formal."

'Kelsang' is nowhere on her paperwork.

"Noted. Miss Kelsang, then. What brings you here so promptly?"

She dials her mood back to neutral. A bit hard with the awkward start, but she likes that the girl used her preferred name instead of arguing or jumping to another thing on her paperwork, which helps...

"I had some syllabus questions."

"Oh?"

And a bit awkwardly: "...Also the university has no non-awkward way to list a preferred name, so, wanted to let you know about the name thing and that my assignments won't be signed as the name on my paperwork."

"If your date of birth is correct, then you can request to change your name."

"I don't have any legal paperwork for it yet, which is what the admin lady last year said she thinks I'll need. And I don't want it showing up on like tuition payment statements yet."

She raises a brow.

"I see."

Ugh ugh ugh, this is so awkward.

"It's Dorji Kelsang. That I'm going as."

"I might also add a last name if I ever pick one, but. Might not."

Hum.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Small smile.

"The pleasure's mine."

"I'm sure it is."

Small giggle. "You are a very interesting lecturer."

She flicks an ear.

"Perfect memory means I spend my time on packaging the material for you, rather than learning it myself."

"Much better than our full professors are managing."

"They have tenure, I don't."

"I think it might be more than just that. You think about things really interestingly."

"Is this leading to a question about the syllabus, or are you just here to flatter me, Miss Kelsang?"

"I can flatter you and have syllabus questions, you know." In fact, here's one, about the tests - it sounds like they might be take home, but she wasn't sure...

Students will have the option of taking the tests in the assigned period, or picking up the test the week before to work on at home and turning it in when the others are taking it. The latter option will be graded more strictly, as noted.
