"Yeah. --Can you draw blessings for other people? I'm imagining doing consensual homework assignments on, like, for me specifically Emily, but like in general on consenting other group members with supervision to prevent foul play, and the experiment of drawing blessings beforehand to see if there are any that turn out to be more correlated with mind control than we would have guessed."

"Huh. One can normally do that but I don't know if it will work for you, who wants trial blessings drawn for them?" She sweeps her paper ones less Wei Wuxian's experiments back into her bag.

"I'll do it."

Blessings for Lucy? "...I got the extraordinaries, so looks like it doesn't work if I'm doing it on your behalf."

"Drat."

"Huh, I wonder if that means it works if one of us draws it for you."

"Huh, good question." She passes the bag. Reheats her neglected breakfast and noms a bit more of it.

Idarai draws three blessings out of the bag.

She looks at them. "Innovation honesty hope. Plausible."

"Hope isn't the worst blessing for a day like today."

"Honesty could suggest we're less likely to have our perceptions of reality fundamentally altered?" Edie suggests optimistically.

"It doesn't generally mean people will be honest with you, although it can mean you have a generally candid conversation coming up."

"If this were covering all of us as a group and not just you that one might be explained just by the fact that I'm here, I'm pretty bad at not candid, honestly."

"I mean, it probably sort of covers the whole group, as long as what kind of day each of us is having affects what kind of day Kiri is having."

"Enh you heard what she said about the honesty thing."

"Does your world have any kind of meaningfully useful divination? Since it has so many things."

"--Well, there's Madam Shoshana, she's a fortune-teller at the Carnival with eerily good results, but I don't actually know what specifically is up with her yet."

"Any chance it'd be in a book?"

"Maybe? I didn't find anything like that last night but I was kind of focused on the stars."

"The stars?"

"In my universe, stars are the most powerful kind of person there is. I came here for leverage to make them get out of the way of my plots for universal immortality. Also I'm one-quarter star." Upon seeing him start to open his mouth: "and one-quarter giant space crab, and half human. There was no direct human interaction with stars."

"I wouldn't want to make any assumptions about what stars look like, but you don't look crablike at all."

"Not in this shape. I learned how to assume it when I was eighteen. I'll show you my natural form sometime if it's convenient and safe. And stars are much much bigger than giant space crabs, my grandmother is big enough to be mistaken for a large building but my father is big enough to be mistaken for a mountain. A real mountain, not a little hill that gets called a mountain because it's somewhere really flat and nobody's seen a real one."
