"Yeah. There was more but it was even more dream-ish and I'm already forgetting it."

They are at the eggs and bacon food cart, manned by a tall man with bull horns. It's also serving sausage and omelettes with minced meat and veggies in them.

She'll have eggs and sausage. She forks over four copper pennies and a fifth one as a tip, and starts eating.

Between bites, she continues:

"So, would you like to dungeon delve today? Or shall we hunt around for rumors? I'd love a wizardry tutor if only I could find one..."

"Hmm. If you want a real education we need to get to a big city. A little more money for equipment and travel, an escort mission in the right direction?"

"And then the money to pay for the education, too. I don't expect that'll be cheap."

She rubs her chin. "I think we should earn some more money today, I don't like that we only have a bit shy of four silver. I'd like to have a gold, like you were loosed with. Sound fair?"

"Sounds fair. I think we should ask about the second level boss and fight it today."

"Works for me." Munch, munch. "No reason to hesitate over that, let's get over to the Guild and then the Dungeon."

They turn their plates back in, then head to the Guild.

Asking around gets them a chucklehead who wants 1 copper for information on the 2nd floor boss. Abyssia rolls her eyes and asks at the Guild desk instead, who give them information for free. The 2nd level floor boss is a Giant Needler, relying on projectile attacks for the most part and vulnerable to fire.

"That kind of puts paid to the 'kite it' strategy... If only we had fire."

"Buy an incendiary bomb? ...Make one with kerosene and rags and a bottle? Ask around for that guy with the crystals we saw the other day - he can do fire, I'd bet."

"Good idea, he had a foreguard too. Not that I want you to not tank for me, but..."

"Splits the loot, but, yeah. If we're going to the third floor it'd be good. Want to ask around for them or shall I?"

"Let's ask together, gives them a better idea of who they're dealing with."

"Good idea."

Asking around gets them told that those two usually hang out in a book store down the street until about noon.

"Let's go check that bookstore, then."

The bookstore consists of a first floor area with three rows of shelves. It has a small cafe area as well, with overpriced pastries. Gem guy is fiddling with his metal gauntlet, foreguard guy is eating something with frosting and flirting with the cashier, who is tolerating it as if it's usual behavior.

Thorn steps forwards. "Hey, are you two looking to delve today? We're looking for fire for the second floor boss."

"Well, that depends, but since such a lovely pair of-"

"Ken. Shut up." Gauntlet guy interrupts. "Yes, we're looking to delve. Positions?"

"We're taken. Mid, and I think Bys here wants to try foreguard this time?"

"Ken looks plenty tanky for me. I can be fore-mid." She pats her harpoon; Her armor clinks. "So, frontline, foremid," she points at Thorn, "Backline to watch our backs," gauntlet guy, "Mid, since you're a caster. Split the loot evenly. Sound good to everyone? What's your name, anyway?"

Ken shrugs with a smile.

"Dalton," gauntlet guy says. "I want more of the loot since I have to either utterly exhaust myself or pay to have the crystals recharged."

"How much for a full crystal recharge for you?"

"4 silver, what's it to you?" He grumbles.

"I'll go half and half with you on that, how does that sound?"

"Just to be clear, you mean you'll give me 2 silver from your share? I would accept that."

"Hey, what about me!" Ken pipes up.

"I'll give you four copper, Ken."

"Yeah, two silver from my share. If I was less nice I'd argue that we're spending powder too for our guns and haggle, but I'm in a hurry."

"Other delvers have consumable costs too. But I agree with Thorn. The sooner we start, the sooner we finish. Let's go?"

Ken and Dalton both nod. Ken scarfs down the last of his pastry and picks up his pack, and then the quartet are off.
