"But what? Obviously you want the full thing, right?"

Hannah sighs. "I mean, ideally I guess, but you don't have to have love to have good sex. You're acting like the two are inseparable, which is wrong."

"I guess that's a fine point, if a bit hairsplitty."

"I'd agree with that, I think. Escorts are people too and it's important to respect their dignity as people. They're not like tenta-pets."

"When did I say they were? Yeesh, I came out to have a good time and I'm honestly feeling kinda attacked right now."

Hannah reaches over and pats Tabs on the head. "It's alright. Eat your steak before it gets cold."

"Oh, right." She picks up her knife and fork and starts carving the steak.

"So Aurica," says Hannah. "You put any more thought into the question I posed you a while back?"

"I think it's more likely to be a yes now. But I shouldn't take you away from Tabs."

Tabs chews thoughtfully.

"I think she's had her turn already. Three times, in fact. So if you wanted to get a slot..."

"I'll call you. I am capable of calling people, at least when they're escorts."

Hannah winces. "Alright, I will." She digs into her pizza.

There's an awkward silence as Aurica looks back and forth between Hannah and Tabs. 

"You know what, I can see I'm intruding, I'm going to leave you two to your meal."

Hannah finishes a piece of pizza. "Do what you gotta do, I guess."

Tabs doesn't say anything. Her mouth is stuffed full of delicious steak.

Aurica pushes back her chair, and leaves.

Tabs watches her go, but doesn't intervene.

"So," says Hannah. "How's your dinner so far?"

"Could be better. But the steak is good, and so is the mashed potatoes, and I'm sure the chocolate cake is excellent."

Audrey giggles. "Yeah. It's great to be able to just get slurpees and microbrewed root beer on demand. To say nothing of the steak."

"Steak is good but I'm tired of it. Pizza has more variety."

"Say Hannah. How long have you been in the Rose Bowers, anyway?"
