:Nope, shadow-walking with Penumbra. She's good for one more trip and then I'll come back:

:Mmm. All right, I think me and Wood will stay out of the way until you've figured out what she wanted. Maybe we'll get a start on building a house out here. - Oh, and I got Enara back to Haven just fine, so I'll collect her again tomorrow. It'd be convenient for that if I sleep out here tonight, in case I don't wake up as early:

:Does Wood stay awake at night? He can watch for you:

:Ooh, good idea, I'll ask him:

She relays to Wood that Maurabel is fine and not mad, and then asks him this question.

"I usually don't sleep much," he says. "I can sit up and wake you if something happens."

"All right, good. Want to start working on building a cabin or something out here, then? I can help you, I don't have Wood obviously but our magic is good for some things, once I'm less tired from the Gate. And then we'll have the start of somewhere else for the other people to stay once we get them."

"What things can you do for cabin-building?" wonders Wood.

"Er, cut down trees, lift logs up, dig holes if we want a foundation, things like that. I'm not as good as my Uncle Van would be, but there's nodes around - oh, and Maurabel was wondering last night if I can draw on you for energy, too, and if that'd be less tiring..."

"Oh, I don't know if you can. I don't know how mages do that except they have to touch us."

"Do you mind if I try? I'll - if it looks like it might hurt you I won't."

He holds his hand out.

She reaches out with her Othersenses, trying to sort of blend the edge of her own mage-aura with his, the way she would for a Healing-meld.

This doesn't work at all.

Hmm. Can she see energy in him at all?

Nope.

Sigh. "Nevermind, I can't see how I'd make it work. Oh well. Nodes are fine."

"Okay. How do you want the cabin to be?"

"Ummm. Simple's fine. Big enough that once it's done we can sleep five people inside? Maybe if we're making it from scratch anyway we can make the door big enough for a Companion to go in comfortably. Could maybe do a loft for extra sleeping space, if that's not too hard. I don't know much about building cabins."

"I think I can do all that. I'll need a lot of trees."

"Right. Does it save you much effort if I knock the trees down and turn them into logs for you?"

"It saves me some magic, so I'll be done faster."

"All right, I can help out with that, then." It's not that much magic, just to slice through the bases of trees that Wood points out to her and then trim off the tops and the bigger branches, and she can rest in between.

"Can you make an illusion of how you want it?"

"Hmm, all right." Jisa gets to work on an illusion of a square cabin, adding detail as she goes.

Wood starts sectioning wood to match the lengths she has in mind, and draws lines on the ground to mark the floorplan.
