She gets Maurabel up to speed on their conversation and then includes both of them. :I'm going to test the broadest set-command I can figure out for 'don't obey orders' and maybe it'll result in the amulet just not working anymore?: 

:...the control isn't verbal. I don't have to say things to get an elemental I have the amulet for to do things, I just directly cause them to do things. It would literally be easier for me to make Adamant scratch my head for me than to do it myself right now. Does that matter?:

:I'm...not sure. We don't have anything that works like that in our world: Well, there are compulsions, but for OBVIOUS REASONS she hasn't gotten around to testing how they interact with Mindhealing and hasn't technically been taught how to cast them at all. :Adamant, are you ready for me to try?: 

Adamant nods. (Maurabel scratches her head.)

Jisa concentrates, and veryveryvery carefully places a set-command. It doesn't need to be yelled at someone in verbal Mindspeech, that's just the fast way, but she's doing a moderately complicated thing here - she doesn't want to set-command Adamant not to be able to move at all, just not to be able to move in response to Maurabel trying to move her... 

:I'm done: she says eventually, not sounding very sure about it. :Maurabel, try testing it now?: 

Maurabel takes a deep breath, and attempts to raise Adamant's wing.

Adamant doesn't move.

:Adamant?: Jisa says uncertainly. :Could you feel her trying and failing, or did it just feel like nothing?: 

:I didn't notice anything:

:Hmm. Can you do things if you want, though?: 

Adamant waves her arms around.

:- Can you run away? I guess if you're going to try it for real I should make you invisible: She glances at Maurabel. 

:I tried to move her wing, it didn't budge: Maurabel reports. :Uh, if she goes missing that will attract attention, and I have her checked out at the moment:

:All right, I guess we shouldn't. I'm trying to think, is there a way we can test if we could without actually having her run away?: 

:Uh, we could see if she can hurt me a little - pinch my arm or something? That's built into the amulets, not something I have to stop her from doing:

:Huh. Is that a thing about all amulets or just the school ones?: 

:It'd be a standard thing to build in but it's not strictly necessary:

:Right. Adamant, can you try that?: 

After some reassurance that it's okay, Adamant tries to pinch her leg. She can't.

:Well, I guess that answers that question: Jisa says disappointedly. :Sorry, Adamant: 

Adamant shrugs.

"I should check her back in pretty soon, I didn't sign her out for overnight and shouldn't if you're going to be under my bed."

:All right. Um, if anyone else is likely to check her out I should probably take off the set-command? Because she can't even notice commands so she couldn't follow them and people would be suspicious, right?:
