They could be sitting on the edge of his bed with her on his lap making out. They could be doing that.

She is in favor of this! Maybe with her arms wrapped around his neck, running through his hair, her legs wrapped around his waist. That seems like it'd be pretty good.

It will be sort of hard to maintain plausible deniability about the lap situation that way but perhaps that is not a desirable state in Cara's opinion anyway.

Yeah she does not mind at all. It gets him kissed harder, in fact.

Presumably at some point they can bring down his backlash this way.

It's going, it's going. It's dragging hers down with it, too, though at some point awakening's going to pull harder than guiding and she'll settle higher than she's at at the moment.

Tragically she's a bit too distracted to pay that much attention to what it feels like to have her backlash be this low. Because of the incredibly hot esper making out with her. He's very distracting, you see.

When Haru is unbacklashed and they've switched to a more snuggly position, Cara asks "Would you still be up for setting up a backlash testing plan?"

"Yeah, I wanted a chart sort of situation, for combinatorial explosion purposes... I'll want my laptop for this not just my phone." His laptop can be located.

She'll wrap around him from behind so she can peer over his shoulder at the screen.

"Remind me what factors you've noticed so far?"

She hands him what she's got so far.

"Now, probably all of these are fuzzy and we shouldn't put a lot of weight on whatever we happen to come up with in a head to head comparison, and it might also vary depending on backlash level, yours is low right now but it's creeping up because awakening's a bitch - we might want to come up with tests now and then execute on them first thing in the morning, you'll be reasonably stable then whether you want to sleep in the same bed or not, either way -"

"Coming up with tests now and then executing first thing in the morning sounds good to me. I definitely want to share a bed tonight."

Clingy Cara. "If I sleep alone I'm going to wake in robot mode, and - I get that we definitely need to run tests on me in that state, probably a lot of them, but I don't want to do it tomorrow." She pauses, leaning against him. "It was scary."

Pet pet. "We don't actually need to do that, you don't necessarily ever have to get your backlash that high again after this week."

"I - I think we need to run at least one set of tests at that level. Even if the plan is to never actually be that backlashed, not knowing how I'll respond if it does happen feels... irresponsible. Better to have all the info I can, to make good plans if it does happen. But..." She pauses, thinking.

"We could maybe make it better by messing up my sleep schedule a bit for it? So that robot Cara doesn't have to be awake for that long?"

"Can Robot Cara simply fall asleep on command, is I guess one question we might reasonably have." He adds it to a separate notes tab in the spreadsheet.
