Cara is trans, estranged from her parents, close to her aunt rachel, and a grad student at U Toronto. She awakens a few weeks after turning 22, near the beginning of the school year.
As a human Zanmi, she's extroverted, outgoing, and has her fingers in so many social pies she doesn't have much space for hobbies that aren't interests she's borrowing from other people. Because she's still smol, she is not good at managing this reliably and struggles to avoid dropping threads / growing distant, even from people she cares quite deeply about.

She's had a string of relationships/situationships with friends that never really ended in breakups as much as slow petering out - her most recent one ended when the couple she was dating moved away for a grad program that they were both excited about. (She's happy for them! Really! A lot! But...)
