Delight all around, then.

And eventually Wyld winds down, mostly easing into 'very cuddly.'

Pet pet.

"That was fun."

Flop. "Was. I like you."

"I like you too."

Happy nuzzle.

Hum.

"So what's next?"

Small yawn. "Like, right now, or like in terms of grand strategy...?"

"A bit of both."

"Hm. Now I could use a nap, then I'll start instituting my rule properly. I'll want to run around overseeing logistics some, make a few examples of people probably, and look into training up new village guards and militias and members of my army. That last bit can take me a month to get a force to 'extremely good,' but I'll need to evaluate whether I can afford to oversee training myself - it's slower to delegate, but I might be needed elsewhere."

"I'm still undecided between leaving new guards behind me and keeping moving quickly or taking a bit to consolidate my territory after each push. I might grab more territory this round then consolidate, since I think we were successful at keeping word from escaping, so responses will be slow..."

"A soft layer could be useful as a buffer zone."

Snuggle.

"It could. I can also train whatever new forces for a week, leave some of my loyalists as guards, and bring the new ones in on the next invasion - bloody them some. That sort of pace, taking this much territory each week and training new people as I go, would leave me in the Hundred Kingdoms campaign for two years - I want to go faster, though, but I also don't want to be kicked out the instant I face serious opposition. Could probably focus my own efforts on the major nodes, let my people handle securing the outlying villages themselves, which would be a good stress test for my officers... That sort of lightning attack would also leave less time for people to shore up defenses."

"Coming in from the outside like this, you are eventually going to face resistance, even from the people you're freeing. If you go too quickly, new population will overwhelm your loyalists."

"Yeah. Which sucks." She huffs, nuzzling into Luc's shoulder. "I have more loyalists than my strike teams, but moving them out here isn't instant..."

"You have a big mouth," which she kisses, "but don't bite off more than you can chew."

Kiss!

"I'll be," she makes a face, "Patient, I suppose."

"You don't have to look like you licked something unpleasant."

"Maybe I just need to get the bad taste out of my mouth..." She licks Luc's cheek.

She laughs. "Go to sleep."

Curl so she's flopping fully over Luc', head nuzzled under her chin.

Yawn and snuggle and drift off to sleep.

Luc' stays awake, absently petting Wyld and listening the prayers of her scattered worshipers, getting information and giving instructions and bestowing blessings.

And in the... Slightly less morning... Wyld wakes up. Unfortunately, she seems to have decided to make herself responsible for an invasion, so can't spend all day cuddling... Pity, that.

Actions having consequences. Who could have imagined.
