"Hexes is transmutation magic. There is a rank zero, minting mana into Kisses; at other ranks you gain more things you can turn into more other things with more expensive reagents, and more ranks get you more size range of creatures you can turn into other creatures. Rank three is what it takes to affect a normal sized grownup with that, and also when you get to furthermore animate objects to do dishes for you and suchlike."

"...am I misunderstood? Hexes does not do that to you. Will do it if you turn someone into a toad, but you need simply not turn your own self into a toad."
