"Crayons. They can't have an unshielded SWAT team in there because they will decide that the next thing to do to address whatever might be troubling them is to go get covered in molten wax. It's not that hot, they're not more than lightly pink with burns or anything, but it does put them out of commission till they get it off and wrecks gear pretty good. Victims are in the same state, they will actively try to get back in the vat to solve all their problems like being covered in melted crayon."

"Is my job going to be to just shield whoever is going to go in?"

"No, you're coming in with me, they've got a guy who can shield you and the wax is hot enough to be pretty uncomfortable for the victims so it'd be good to have you on that too."
