The holocron is quite willing to go into minute detail where Occlus's personal life is not concerned. It seems almost curious that she doesn't ask more about secrets of the Force or obscure rituals and artifacts.

She mostly actually saves those questions to bother Occlus herself with, and offhandedly mentions as much to the holocron's gatekeeper. She likes talking directly to her, especially about those things Occlus finds most interesting.

That seems inefficient, if her goal is gaining power.

Though, the holocron muses, that might not in fact be her goal at all.

"Not my main goal, at least. Power is a path, not an end."

"Of course it is. Does Darth Occlus lie at the end of your path?" The holocron sounds faintly amused.

"Ideally my path never ends. But, yes, I'd like to be hers, at least in part, and I'd like to help her obtain her goals."

"Be hers, hmm?"

"I'm - unsure what sort of 'hers' she'd want of me."

"She would want as much of you as she can get. That is her way."

" - I want to say 'I'll give as much as she can take,' but... I'm not without other ties. My children, mostly, whose goals so far at least seem compatible with hers."

"Then you will need to set firm boundaries."

"Communication, then. Fun."

"Every path has its price."

"True. Still, that's one I'm willing to pay."

"Then I wish you good fortune."

"Thank you."

She has... A lot to talk to Occlus about, she thinks.

If she can find the time.

Ani can clear space in her schedule pretty easily. (For Occlus, at least.) Moving around Occlus's schedule might be a bit harder; still, Ani indicates she'd like to talk - not an emergency, but might take a bit - and mostly leaves scheduling to Occlus. 

She might stop by this weekend. Usually Occlus takes advantage of the quiet at the office, but she is not technically supposed to be there.

(She snorts).

Sure. Ani will see her then.

Occlus has added one new decoration since the last time Ani's been over: the old holoprojector from Myrkr, currently showing the image of a young woman in dark robes.

She's there exactly on time.

She looks at the image for a few moments when she spots it.

"Who is she?"

"My apprentice. Long dead, now."

"Ah."

Not the best start to this conversation, is it.

"She was killed, doing something I told her not to. The one time she ever disobeyed..."
