Cursing again, Alex steps in the whip's way and catches it, wincing at its bite as it wraps around his arm, "Fuckssake, Isabel, you're healing that. Focus on the fucking demon."

Kay presses forward, slashing at the demon's(?) midsection with his blade. It just barely avoids being bisected, shrieking again as it backs away from them. It's form seems to... flicker, somehow, the image of a pretty blue-haired boy faltering to show something considerably less attractive underneath.

"She could be working with it."

But she does as he says and uses a shining blade to cut down the demon's back.

Clary is beyond confused and now fear is creeping into her brain. She tries to move out of the way -

The thing has claws. What the fuck - what the fuuck.

Seeing her backing away from the fight, Alex turns back to re-engage with the actual enemy, pulling another shining blade like the one he'd thrown out of his coat. He scores a hit at its other side, and then the three of them herd it into a corner.

"Wait-!" It hisses once it realizes how screwed it is, "I have information! Don't send me back, please-"

"You have nothing we want, demon."

"No? Not even... information about Valentine?"

Alex freezes in the process of striking out for a killing blow.

"Valentine is dead. Just like you're about to be."

"Are you so certain of that?" It hisses, something darkly amused in its tone.

"Of course," Kay says, still holding the demon at sword point. "Alex, come on."

He nods, tightly, "Anything you say will be a lie, anyway," he says, and then strikes out with his blade.

It sinks into the demon's chest, and it shrieks even louder than before, and then explodes into a cloud of black dust.

That just happened. They just...

"You killed him."

"And you're next, demon."

Isabel goes to walk over to her.

Alex turns to follow her, raising an eyebrow, "Pretty sure she isn't, Isabel."

"Touch of the whip should clear that up," Kay remarks, keeping in step with the other boy.

"What is she if not a demon? She can see us."

Clary backs up, baring her teeth at them and ready to fight.

"You're not going to touch me."

He shrugs. "Downworlder? Mundie with the sight?"

Isabel snaps out with her whip, not aiming for serious harm, really.

Yeah, no. Clary quickly moves out of the way, avoiding the whip, and rushes towards the door.

Kay rushes after her, but she's closer to the door, and is just fast enough to slip out and into the crowd before he can catch her arm.

"Damn," he mutters. He turns to look at Alex, "You'd better be right."

Eyebrow quirk, "You know my sight's better than most. She wasn't a demon." He's absolutely sure of that. He'd stake his life on it.

Clary runs, disappearing into the crowd. She needs to find Skye - needs to get them out of here.

Skye finds Clary quickly, notes her expression and pulls her towards the back and out of sight from the Employees Only entrance.

Soon they're in the back alley and walking quickly to his car.

Clary knows he wants answers, knows he's practically brimming with questions;

"Lets go back to my house. They could still be around."

The drive home isn't too long, though nerves and curiosity might make it seem longer. Soon enough they reach the old house where Clary lives with her mother, along with a few other tenants. They can see that the lights are on in the upstairs suite they call home, a beacon of calm normality in a world made significiantly stranger by the events of the past hour.
