"Not that I've heard of. But it's between Taldor and Cheliax and one imagines Cheliax wants it back."

"The hypothesis here being - there's a Taldan faction taking Chelish support on the sly in exchange for future support taking Andoran?"

"Yes. I don't think it's actively likely, but there's a Taldan faction taking Chelish support for something and Andoran seems like a more plausible summary than anything else. - they've got no reason to bother us. I assume."

"I mean, they probably aren't provoked, that doesn't mean no reason, if we were looking at Andoran prepping to invade Cheliax that might be unprovoked but there's an obvious reason."

"We want to divert this or follow along and see where it's headed?"

"I think follow it - a whole war's going to get bigger than one boat and we don't even know if your Taldan acquaintances will be glad of the news yet."

"I don't suppose Abadar will just tell you who's fighting who."

"Well, he hasn't yet."

"Would that be in character?"

"I have never received direct divine revelation about geopolitics but I've also never been plausibly the person best positioned to do things about them. Commune is a sixth-level spell and would definitely permit it."

"How do you tell if you're experiencing divine revelation and not a weird daydream?"

"I don't know how to describe it but there's a feeling associated with using the cleric ability to channel energy and it feels like that."

"Neat, I'm glad that's nice and legible."

"There are madpeople who say the gods talk to them but I have never heard of a cleric who couldn't tell the difference."

"Probably the gods occasionally talk to people who aren't clerics?"

"I guess perhaps under extreme circumstances. I don't think it's very typical."

"The obvious use case'd be someone out of their alignment zone nevertheless with a compatible outlook on some narrower topic."

"Yeah. I don't know much about - so there are obviously some agreements among the gods about when they'll directly intervene in the world, and I know almost nothing about those."
