"Someone was looking for you," a drunk, muscular man applying some paint to his fingernails says to Belmarniss as she walks by. "Drow girl."
"Wow," says Hagan's disembodied voice. "You're so close. Maybe some of these pirates will need fighting."
And then they can pull up alongside the ship and step on board.
It's a big ship, and still a cramped deck for four people to be successfully invisible on; there are people walking around, puddles to avoid, rigging and crates and so on. There's a door to belowdeck.
Belmarniss is very grateful for her new magic item. Since she's the one with darkvision she lurks by the door in hopes of a glimpse.
She does her best to memorize the situation in there before she sneaks back to the carpet, makes sure she's remembered right where it is, and climbed aboard again.
And after a bit everyone else comes back too and they can fly a little ways away.
"I recognized two of the people we are tracking," Mahdi said. "One of the others we scried for is also on this ship, though I only saw him below deck when I scried."
She starts sketching as soon as she can see her hands. "Here's what I saw below."
"- somebody with better daylight vision wanna figure out their heading from the sun?"
"If they're taking weapons to Taldor we're not going to win any points by telling the Taldans about it."
"Is their shipment in violation of some treaty all by itself, or is this likely to be purely a matter of secrecy?"
"Cheliax can send Taldor ship cannons if they want to. Just - weird thing to want for some sort of internal dispute."
"Who would Cheliax want Taldor to pick a fight with - got any more of that Fox's -"
