It is, all things considered, a very nice drawing room. Portraits adorn the walls and the heavy drapes are open to let starlight from the moonless night through. There's a table far too small for the large room with a pot of tea, a set of tea cups and an arrangement of cookies and fruit. Two oaken doors are firmly closed to one side, and to the other a single door is slightly ajar, the sound of sobbing coming from past it. Every once in a while it's possible to hear a page being turned in the other room as well. The drawing room on its own is silent, save for the ticking of a grandfather clock and then, with no prelude, an exclamation.
...huh. So it might conceivably solve the problem if he could get ahold of a pair and bring half to his world but he can't get there in the first place. Still. He passes it to Lucette for her assessment.
"-I think they put who took what trophies from the fight at the back of the volume..." She flips to the appropriate section.
"... apparently my Lord Felsworth had several panes put into his tomb in honor of his participation in the battle, which is rather a terrible waste."
"They don't mention others - I really hate the idea of robbing a tomb, but I think it's worth it in this case."
"It's... disrespectful of the dead in a way most people would object to very strongly?"
"Just out of curiosity are people leaving the pyramids of Egypt well alone in this timeline?"
"No, though I don't think there are many living people who object to that like they would to robbing Lord Felsworth's tomb."
Well, she didn't invite him but she's not exactly going to say no to the personal friend of the king and highest ranking law enforcement officer in England.
Most likely this means that the no one has fessed up to being the owner of of the demon that manifested at the previous dance and so the Earl Marshal has been dispatched to investigate anyone who, like Haru, was known to be nearby when the demon manifested.
"That should clear up the matter of your guilt, but he may want to ask you questions about who else you saw there."
