She inclines her head. "Ivy the First."

"A pleasure to meet you, I'm sure." She dips a curtsey.

Cute. 

"The pleasure is mine - I'd rather hoped you would be among the new Lyctors, you know."

Polite smile. "After our encounter with your compatriot, we decided the lifestyle was perhaps not for us."

She raises an eyebrow. "My compatriot?"

"Ah," Abigail hesitates.

"Cytherea," Ellyn says laconically. "Killed the Seventh and took their place. Tried to kill us. Third's bringing the body back with everything else."

" - So that's where she went."

"And how long ago was she revealed?"

"A few weeks. Teacher said he'd make just the one call once we'd finished."

She shakes her head and grumbles under her breath, "I've told Her that man's death wish makes him untrustworthy..." Sharply, and more loudly: "Next time something like that comes up? Insist. There's things God doesn't need to know, but that isn't one of them."

"Noted."

"But that does make it more important that we leave promptly - Lady Pent, could you lend a hand with these spirit wards?"

"Of course. May I ask to what end..?"

She'll explain about River travel at the deeper levels. 

Fascinating.

Batshit insane, of course, but fascinating nonetheless. She's been toying with the idea of a nesting schema that may help to extend the longevity here...

Very interesting - and if she's willing, it'd help to have someone who's not traveling charge some of this, especially with seven new Lyctors along. 

As long as she's not expected to donate all the blood herself.

Gideon can donate the rest - she's got energy to spare. 

"Thank you - and I'll cover anything you two can't."

Then they can swiftly get to work.

It's a rather enjoyable collaborative project.

And as Abigail and Gideon are putting on the final touches - Ivy can also paint wards on the skin of anyone willing, as an extra layer of protection - though given the pecularities of Lyctorhood, they'll work better if self applied. Though it's entirely possible that bonded pairs applying each others' will work. 

They can leave that experiment for a lower-stakes moment.

"Still, if you're confident in your own warding skills, it should work at least as well as mine - and i'll double check your work first."

Gideon's confident, but she's also confident enough to do her own. 

Angerona is confident as well, though perhaps not as much as Gideon.
