"Yes. You probably won't wind up wanting to generate electricity separately for each square mile of field and getting electricity from point A to point B is not trivial over substantial distances."

"Then maybe I make sure I can do it for a hundred square miles. I wonder if I can just enchant something to collect the Trees."

"That might work too."

"It'd be - hmm - Curufinwë, did you see the paper on enchanting non-opaque materials -"

She did and the conversation veers off into the very densely technical again.

"Well, I'm going home," she says after a while, "city to run."

"Waste of your talents," she interrupts herself to say. "Leave the Noldor to my mother and go rule Earth or something."

Should I stick around or go with you?

I can't follow the technicalities at all but I seem to be intermittently useful as an Earth-things consultant, not sure what ratio of one to the other to expect.

They can also ask you questions at range, or do you prefer people not do that?

Oh, no, that's fine - I'm unaccustomed to people who aren't my brother being able to start telepathic conversations with me. And that decides her, up she gets.

And back they head. She's smiling. My mother's going to have some kind of absolutely ridiculous artificial lighting solution, just you wait.

I'm excited!

Should I reach out to the Valar about portals, or d'you'want more time in case they are nitwits and go 'oh, no, we'll just send her home and make sure that doesn't happen again'?

I'd still like to give the Earthside team a solid chance.

And they go back to the city and she secures permissions for indoor plumbing and fixes miscellaneous other problems as they arise.

Isabella reads and practices Quenya and is available to answer intermittent osanwë queries and enjoys the novelty of being able to dance and -

Somebody's going to figure out the portal and come through in half an hour.

Oh, cool! Should I organize a welcome party?

What would that consist of?

I and some interested parties go down to the portal to say 'welcome to Valinor, we're the local intelligent life'?

Sounds good. Unless this somehow makes it likelier the Valar will do something dumb.
