Libbies seem to be the closest thing they have to yous.

I don't just mean the people stuff, I also mean the administrative stuff, and the 'double check me this is complicated and I might have failed to think of a moving piece' stuff, and the 'can you make this problem cease to be one I have too much on my plate' stuff.

...yeah, they delegate less, less division of labor. It's not across the board, the Goldens are nearly identical...

...it's vaguely like they grew faster than everyone around them.

- expand on that?

Hmmm - if I had to describe to someone what I thought they should do to become a close friend or partner of a Bell, I'd list 'reliability' and 'compatibility of grand ambitions' right up there with 'visible unadulterated adoration', and now I'm thinking my peal's Bells valued that highly because we in general met under such high-stakes circumstances, not that it's a general criterion, but the multiverse sort of steadily raises and raises the stakes - in terms of the magnitude of the effects of our choices, not the personal risk we're bearing - and that's hard on interpersonal dynamics formed when selecting for the adoration and not the reliability.

...yeah. Executive summary of Jokers suggests not so much of the reliability. They're sort of magically indispensable, which must be a confound...

....that'd do it, yeah. And they're very good company, but it makes sense that you'd get a whole peal - doing it alone and under a sort of strain I haven't seen any of our Bells under.

Yeah. Did you spot one of your Space alts disappearing with Cooper -

Yep. Part of what got me thinking -

Like... I am not doing monogamy, Cam-who-needs-to-pick-a-new-nickname-now and Loki are not doing monogamy, but this is a different extent to which apparently Cooper is not doing monogamy, he isn't single, he just...

His boyfriend wouldn't care, I bet you that's what he'd say is 'wouldn't care' and not 'wouldn't mind'.

Should I have some kind of talk with my alt. Not now, but.

No, he's not the problem here, I'm sure Cooper's having a marvelous time.

But there is a problem here.

I don't think it's actively bothering them on a day to day basis. There is a suboptimality here. - Isn't actively bothering most of them. Amariah maybe. Did you hear that one.

I heard that one. I keep reminding myself that being dramatically horrified won't help anyone involved.

...I think Amariah has decided that dumping him wouldn't help anyone involved. So she hasn't.

...he would probably take it badly.

Yep. And then, you know, among other things, what does she tell her thirteen year old daughter who she has scarcely met and what does she run her entire gigantic special-needs worldsheaf on especially if Jane goes down and her alts can't funnel her coins.

But that's not - no, it's not that it's not incentive enough to fix it - is she, not capable of modifying herself to not mind, or does she just not want to do that even if it'd sustain the relationship that gives her access to magic -

...she could probably do it. It's probably pretty unpalatable? I am at a disadvantage figuring out how even my own alts feel about the whole 'having children' thing. Also - I have no idea what would happen if he found out that she'd done it. I can barely understand how Bells with Jokers model the Jokers, I definitely do not understand how the Jokers model them back or what they expect from them or anything.

Well. Personnel resources we're equipped to offer them, advice on that I don't think I can. None of my business, and all.

I love you.

I love you too.
